Would it be helpful, in circumstances when you're bouncing light, to take a custom white balance reading or use something like a Colorchecker Passport, because it's probably very likely that there will be some colour shift as a result of the wall colour / strobe colour combo.

Hey Brhum, you could do that - it is the correct thing to do but at the same time it is not absolutely necessary. I always make sure that when I am bouncing light or even in a natural light setting, that I have looked around to determine what colour casts there might be in the room and whether it will be correctable afterwards. I always shoot raw so I can tweak my kelvin afterwards to suit my mood. Example: Shooting a wedding dress on grass will always give a greener skin tone - many people ignore this simple reality that the environment will always offer it's own colour to your shots.
