Lighting in Arnold for Maya | Light Blocker

You are a life saviour, i knew this filter yet i forgot it existed. Thanks for this tutorial i needed to block some unwanted reflections onto a glass with liquid inside.

Ahhhh! Great video! The only thing I will say is that now in Maya 2023 when I add a light blocker there is not instantly a light blocker wireframe object visible at the origin. In order to see the wireframe of the light blocker I need to select the light blocker node for the light in the hypershade.

Hello I love your tutorials! I do have a question tho. When I add a light blocker like you did... at first when I added one, the block cube appeared as usual but whenever I select something else the light block cube just disappears. I even tried to scale it out but it doesn't even block light anymore. Can you please help me?

I had the locators turned off and never noticed the transformer box appearing to block the light. Thanks!

hi...i am having a hard time creating the diamond lighting ,rendering.... effects ....in arnold ....just not happening ......havnt' found tutorial for it(all using keyshot or other software..no one using maya arnold)...could you please help me out..thank you

How do I stop it from tiling? If i make the box too large, i cant see the shape anymore (blocks too much light). But if I make it small, it tiles.

So if I disable wrapping, it won't tile. However, it then has a very hard rectangle edge to the light.
