Hey Anthony, I've not seen you review any UK grime music on here and since Skepta is releasing his new album 'konnichiwa' tonight why don't you check it out and give an idea of what you think? I think hes had some big influences from American artists such as Kanye (who he did a concert with in London recently) which has contributed to the genre growing recently. Or you could wait and have a listen to JME's 'Integrity>' that comes out soon. Anyway, hope you see this and keep up the good work! From Dom

I am kind of lucky as it is my first lightning bolt album and it is so good. Indeed you need to wait the second part for the album to go totally insane It sounds noise rock but plays free jazz

i think runaway train is one of my new favourite LB songs... i really like the ones where they sort of break from their usual style a little and experiment with a different kind of groove (like Funny Farm or crown of thorns). The second half of the track in particular is nuts. I'd probably give the album an 8 overall, I didn't dislike the first half as much as you did. And my least favourite track was prolly King Of My World... it just felt like it wasn't really going anywhere, but unlike The Metal East and Horsepower it didn't have a strong groove to it either.

I find it their most listenable album to date (and I'm a massive fan). They seem to have put more thought into each song, structuring them with more care than previous efforts. And the fidelity is a cut above too, though not so polished as to neuter their trademark, noisy sound.

I was initially against the purity ring review. But after "hmmmmm" you have to do it. That proves legitimate thought on the it, you know you gladly reached for the album quickly after its discovery. Even imagine the enjoyment Cal would receive with the piece.

Will always be the most intense live show I've seen. If you're in a small space, it's like being thrown into a dryer with a stack of pawn shop amplifiers on 11 placed adjacent to said dryer. It was one of those days in my early 20s where I just new i was going to have tinnitus :-D

i thought it wasn't quite as chaotic as there passed efforts but, focuses more on being heavy and noisy, kinda steering away from the kind of free jazz elements and more pushing towards a more fuzzed out metal sound

I think this album is one of the best of LB. Of course different, metalish, but psychedelic and noisy as usual, I was surprised the "lack" of chaos but in perspective you can appreciate a lot more the lil bits of it better than in their first album, for example.
