I think for a figure like Goldar I don’t mind some more limited articulation. He wasn’t known in the show for his gymnastic action poses so not being able to do the splits isn’t a massive issue. The loose joints are disappointing though. My other Lightning collection figures are all tight so not sure what’s happened here.

Probably a QC thing, like the couple I own have issues with the shoulder (for DC red which I might just get a second version of instead of making an issue even worse than I already got it) and gummy-ness on the joints for shadow

Goldar was always my favorite MMPR villain from season 1 and just in general, but mostly season 1 for sure. He was always intimidating. I always had to have a Goldar figure. These guys did a good job.

If the gold really bugs people, they should just get golden gundam markers and do a few coats over Goldar. That's what we had to do with the Bandai figures. This shade of "Gold" does look better than the mac n cheese color we had with Bandai's Gold Ranger though.

These figures are superb to anything Bandai previously gave us. I had stopped collecting the Bandai America releases due to the terrible sculpts, over muscular bodies and was only collecting the figuarts figures. I do believe now that these have surpassed the figuarts as far as sculpts. I honestly I don't mind paying a lil less for a figure with a better sculpt and almost great articulation especially for characters that figuarts never released

My torso and wing aren't floppy like yours but my legs are exactly like yours, floppy out sideways but stiff front and back. Huge fail making the wings out of that plastic. They should have went with the same plastic they used on archangels wings. Firm and lightweight. I love this figure. He was my favorite villain from season 1 and 2. Now we just need a regular season 1 red ranger.

The face is accurate to the way he looked in Season 2 onward. They made a new costume for their new American footage, which had a lighter colored head. That might be what the people bitching about him not working as a sentai figure are talking about.

Lots of power rangers collectors are cheap AF. They want something as articulated as a Soul of Chogokin, but the price of an old deluxe Megazord ($40). They are absolutely stupid

My Goldar's' joints ended up being a bit better than yours, but not by much. But yeah, not as good as Zedd, but still great for what he is. And yeah, lots of people have complained about the Dragon Shield Red. Mainly in terms of the helmet sculpt. Makes me wonder if headswapping with a Legacy Red is possible. Their Zeo Gold ended up overall better than the Legacy one though.

It's perfect both for Grifforzer (sentai version) and for Goldar, as they are the same. The only mistake is: the sword should be gold.

Are there different “teams” like one team who work on the legends, another that does MCU and another that is doing Power Rangers? If so maybe the team doing power rangers could b better at sculpting, or care more about what they are putting out, or maybe even just have more time to do things because the lineup is smaller? Hasbro is straight trolling Marvel Legends collectors. I have no idea how EVERY mighty morphin figures has been killer, but Marvel Legends they just go through the motions.... so infuriating

Cory Drummond personally I feel the BAF business model is the thing that’s holding Marvel Legends back. The budget that goes into those parts could be better used for individual sculpts and accessories. If you notice Star Wars, Power Rangers, and Overwatch for the most part get unique sculpts and accessories (all of which do not include a Build-a-figure). And for the record, I’m not saying Hasbro should stop making larger figures for Legends, but instead make those larger characters at a higher price point (probably $40-$50). Transformers has been doing the different size/price classes for years. At least that’s my take on it. I understand that getting rid of the BAF probably won’t immediately change things for ML, but taking notes from its sister lines could help improve it.

Well the 80 years line is doing the $25 single carted stuff. Like the Alex Ross Iron Man and Classic Thor. I have a feeling Hasbro will be doing this more, almost like they are doing a premium line of some sort.

It seems to me that Hasbro likes Power Rangers more then Marvel comics, at least the villains, this action figure is very well sculpted, that head is incredible. The engineering and the materials could be better but it's good enough for the price point, it is actually a hard sculpt to engineer when it comes to articulation. I'm not a fan of Power Rangers but if I wasn't spending so much already in so many licenses and action figures I would pick the Hasbro Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers villains.
