I have recently taken over my late father’s company making medals, military insignia, honors and awards. The company is over 45years old and your videos inspired me to push to company into the 21st century and we have just received our first ever CNC machine... the Fanuc RoboDrill. So thank you for the push I needed and keep up to good work

@Marius Ipad I used to sell items on Amazon. One item was a device I invented and I was selling about $1000 per week for several years. The chinese copied my product exactly, used the same words from my listing except they were selling for $10 less. Yes, the quality was inferior but it got the job done. Just recently Amazon shut down my listing because it was deemed a "counterfeit". Someone had filed a complaint that my product was counterfeit despite the fact that I am the original inventor, I had been selling the product for going on 5 years. I had to jump through hoops to prove that I am the OEM for the product. It was just too much so I pulled the product and all other products from Amazon.

@@jackflash6377 The same happened with a mexican company that was a pioneer in the drone area (it was before the drones/quadcopters become popular), a chinese company, DJI, copied all the designs and the technology used in the mexican drones and become selled them for less, the mexican company declared bankruptcy a year later.

I’ve built and assembled a lot of Fanuc machinery. Crazy good safety integration, doing demos is the best because I would run at 15-20% speed to dial in simultaneous operations and then start ramping up the speed and the people’s faces when this thing got over 60% speed was funny. Especially when it was in the 80-90% range.

I learned to program on an old 3 axis robodrill with a screen so dim you’d have to hold a piece of cardboard overhead to cut out the glare to even see the screen. Needless to say they have a very special place in my heart. Fast, dead on accurate, and it taught me about working around a machine’s limitations.

Fantastic Titan, you are making a difference in manufacturing that is spreading around the world. This industry has been very hard to enter and succeed for a long time due to information being held back. Your Academy, and all of the youtube creators sharing their experiences is making the future of manufacturing look greater than ever.

Great addition to your machine lineup Titan! I have yet to find a machine that can beat a Robodrill on a cost-value basis, especially once you slap a robot on it. It's speed more than makes up for it's torque and HP limitations, and FANUC really nailed it with the newer advanced longbed Robodrills like the one here.

I replaced a couple of old tired Fadal CAT40 taper machines with a pair of Robodrills. Got laughed at because of the 30 taper but with the dual contact 30 taper, it has outperformed those old Fadals and had a few people tell me they were wrong about the 30 taper. They have been great machines, especially with high pressure thru spindle coolant.

Titan should be referred to as THE image of what an employer should be. He thinks forward all the time. He also thinks about his employees and how to make their lives easier and more productive. I work in a shop that thinks nothing but how we did it years ago and that’s good enough. There’s very little forward thinking and when there is, it’s a fight and struggle to push them towards it. It makes my job much less enjoyable and a lot less productive. Cheers to you Titan. I wish you had a shop on the east coast, I’d love to work for someone like you.

I ran robo drills for a few years... kinda fun since they are so fast. Although the generic fanuc controller is funky. It alarms out for a lot of things. Like when you reset it will alarm out if you dont give it a few globals. Not like a haas where you can just reset and restart with no alarms.

Titan, maybe I'm totally missing something but it seems to me that virtually all parts could hugely benefit from sawing out big chunks of material before doing any milling. I see many operations where I would mount a circular saw blade in a given machine head and then I'd saw out every cubic inch that I could before milling anything. Am I missing something here? Thanks! :)
@alex_yates
@alex_yates 3 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about having the machine saw chunks off: Would you want a big chunk of metal dropping into your machine? If you're talking about doing it manually before putting the stock in the machine: takes waaaaay too much time compared to having a machine just do a bit more roughing out. Big insert cutters don't take that long to shift slot of material 👍

I would think that skilled sculptors would be terrified of CNC machinery. It takes years to hone their skill, and even once they have it, weeks or months to make a statue with a hammer and chisel. On the other hand, anyone can stick a bunch of photos into a photogrammetry program, build up a 3d model of the person or object or whatever, and then feed it to a CNC mill or a 3d printer, etc. and have a physical replica made just like that. Just as an example, there is already a highly detailed 3d bust model of George Floyd on the internet. The man is only dead 6 weeks and already anyone with a 3d printer or a CNC rig can make a bust of him. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing the existence of such technology, I'm just stating that with it being what it is, traditional sculptors may well fear for the future of their trade.
