I come frequently come back to your online tutorials, though now I m quite busy with Lum masks :) and alas, they are sooo clear, so simple to understand. Though I had seen this one, I came back for a small remembering! TY Matt!!!!

I have to say that I was expecting to watch a tutorial for total beginners. I can't even say why I started the video, perhaps to "come into flow" on a Saturday morning before firing up Lightroom. But then - *BANG!* - this tip with the shortcut to temporarily turn on Auto Mask while brushing. Without the need to turn on / off the Auto Mask check box, which sometimes is just distracting. I have many years of experience with Lightroom, still watch tutorials from time to time - we all want to learn and get better - but I have never come across this shortcut. Much appreciated, so thanks, Matt!

very nice tutos ! i didn't know the ctrl key for automask ! to remove effect from mountain i also use your old trick to increase shadow slider and also now range either in luminosity or for removing blue of the sky. just converted my french language to english in lightroom and can't find before/after which, on a belgian keyboard was SHIFT S instead of "\" which never worked. what is the shortcut for english version on belgian keyboard ? where is this shortcut documented ? best regards marc

@MattKloskowski6 жыл бұрын
Hi Terri - no, they won't work in Camera Raw.

Matt Kloskowski: I guess I'll have to create my own. Thankfully, you covered how to do that. I will pause the video to get a peek at some of the settings you had for a beginning point.

I am pretty good with Photoshop, but Lightroom confuses me for some reason. I have a couple questions. Can I use any file with a .lrtemplate extension as a brush? Also, how do I load presets into ACR? Is there a way to do the automasking you were talking about in ACR?

automasking trigger in ACR is the letter M...

Hey Matt, I’ve been following your videos for awhile! I appreciate your tips! I have a question about Sony. How do you become an artisan of imagery?
@MattKloskowski5 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark. It was a combination of I shot Sony cameras, posted a lot... did a lot of tutorials and was very active in the photo community so I guess I blipped on their radar. It's going to be different for everyone. To become an ambassador of any brand, my guess is they look for (first and foremost) amazing work. After that they're also going to look for some one who is active in the community. Most brands want ambassadors that will be able to reach people (through their work, social media, training, education, public speaking, etc...), so having those qualities will also help. Good luck!

I was really excited about the automask shortcut, but "ctrl" doesn't seem to work for me. I'm trying it right now. After a search I found the "A" key does it for me. A on A off. Am I doing something wrong or has hit changed since August of last year?
@MattKloskowski5 жыл бұрын
Hi. A is the key for officially turning it on and off. Ctrl (cmd on Mac) is the key for temporarily turning it on while you're painting but as soon as you let it go, it goes back to normal. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work though.
@acarde5 жыл бұрын
@@MattKloskowski I'm trying that right now and it's not doing anything at all. I would rather it be temporary. That's faster for me and why I was excited to see that in your videos when I was watching in bed last night. (How's that for weird? People watch your videos in bed). So I'd like to figure out why "ctrl" isn't working for me on my Win 10 machine.
