FANTASTIC TUTORIAL! These are my NEW favorite tools in Lightroom..THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!
@jackbaratta57224 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The huge difference in your videos is the way that you will enlarge the view of the tools so that I can see what is actually being done with the sliders & so on. You are a really good teacher and I appreciate it a lot.

Yours was the most clear, helpful overview of the three tools I have seen, and I have watched LOTS of tutorials trying to figure out how to use them! Thanks. I especially appreciate your going back and showing 2 or 3 times how the tools and settings you suggest are working.

You’re the FIRST one I’ve seen address this! This to me is one of the MOST underutilized functions in LR. It’s great for so many things including color grading.

Great tutorial. For me, the best part was the moment you color-picked around that area in the sky and BOOM, those beautiful mountains after 10:43

Thanks so much, Matt! Your teachings are so clear and concise!! I'm getting better at understanding PS and LRC, but every time I listen to you, I put more tools in my tool bag.

Really great video, I'm what I call an analogue photographer in a digital world, most of these types of things we used to do with our hands in the darkroom. You make it very easy to learn, this is a feature i've never used previously. Thats the great thing about KZbin videos, just like having a 1-1 tutor. You make it easy to understand, so thank you

Good explanation. You can pick more than one time color in the color mode by holding the SHIFT key. So in the last example you could again grab your mouse over the white color or any other area you want to add to the modification

Great tutorial! You didn't mention that holding down the Alt key while moving the sliders gives a more visible representation of the mask. To me this is the best way to dial in the adjustment.

@marclabro5 жыл бұрын
very nice tuto ! Let's hope Adobe will improve this feature like On1 photoraw. I would be interested to see how you are using a graduated filter outside the canevas in conjunction with range mask. It seems we could have now a local HSL in lightroom (a feature asked for years by all LR users !) doing that by selecting color and brushing out the unwanted zones best regards marc
@MattKloskowski5 жыл бұрын
Marc Labro Marc. I hate to say it but this blows everything else out of the water. Nobody is even close to this level of masking yet.
@marclabro5 жыл бұрын
hello Matt, to be sure i understand your english :-) do you mean that you consider LR range mask is now better than ON1 density/feather/level/window method + gear menus Apply to...+protect sliders ? By the way i tried recently Luminar which is amazing but luminosity masks are really poor ! Kind regards marc

G’day Matt. I’m really having a problem getting the range masking in L/R to work properly. I’ve got your tutorials saved/subscribed etc. I watch the videos on my iPad as I follow what you do and edit my photos on my Mac. I still get bloody lost. I understand the concept but my over 70 yrs brain lags worse than L/R At times. Thanks Matt. I’ll keep on keeping on. Neville J.

Hi! If you hold Alt or Option while draging the range sliders you will instantly see the mask in B&W and so where the effect will apply. It's much more handy than turning on and off the "show luminance mask" button.
