I tried LR years ago, got frustrated -- even after taking in-person and one-on-one instruction -- so I moved over to PS. Now I'm coming back to LRC. This video was EXCELLENT. However, Collections and image storage location continue to confound me. In this video you imported photos from your memory card. Then you edited photos that were already in collections. But you never tell us how those images from your Nikon card got onto your computer. How does LRC do this? Where do these images actually reside? Thank you.

I tried Lightroom once before and because I use a PC, not a MAC, I did not have the Library/Develop/Map feature along the top. All the tutorials were probably geared towards the Mac. Should I be looking at LR Classic or CS. Can it be purchased or is it subscription only. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello Paul, first thanks for your time to do a tutorial for beginners. I'm completely new with Lightroom, so it was very helpful. I have two questions. During the develop tutorial you are switching between the original en the processed image. How do you do that? I can't find any button with that function. Thank you in advance, Alexander

Question: When you make edits to a raw image, do the edits stay once you close out the program, or do you have to save the edits as a different file? And since the raw image isn't changed, is a new image file created, or are just the changes associated with your editing session saved? (Concerned about the storage space involved)
@photogenius Жыл бұрын
Yes, when you close and re-open LR, the image will be the same as you left it. When you edit an image, LR Does not by default create a second (edited) version, instead it simply saves the data in a file that contains the changes that you have made. Hope that helps. Paul

Hi there. I've watched a number of your videos after discovering you work only a few days ago. I've dabbled with and am impressed by LR. My biggest impediment to adopting what looks like a very useful program, is the fact I have a pre existing catalog I created in a format that works. I can't seem to find an answer as to how to import this existing unit and add new material to it. I'd also be looking for other details on rudimentary management of files. I want the content ALL on a number of drives for backup but don't want to have to insert new drives because the original "lives" on another drive. Most presentations seem to have their basic files built on shot date roots and fine tuned with custom named collections. I hope I haven't been too confusing with the questions. Lastly, is there a book, ie, LR for Dummies or something that would contain the answers I seek. I'm working with a large collection amassed since the inception of digital plus some film scans in the mix as far back as "72 when I started. Thanks a million in advance.

Any idea on why Lightroom does not support Fuji RAW format?
@photogenius3 жыл бұрын
HI Mike. It certainly should, I have no problems using Fujifilm RAW files in LR. This problem is usually fixed by an update and is common if the camera is brand new and Lightroom does not recognise the format yet (there is no standard raw format so every time a new camera comes out LR issue updates, but sometimes this can take a while). If you are using an older version of LR I suggest an update.
