David, the crowd at the Spaghetti Factory were a little disappointed at your first couple of netting attempts at Dirks first fish. LOL... You found redemption, GREAT scoop. I was at St Johns bridge Friday, and netted a 10-lb native. I don't know if I'm EVER going to break my MAIDEN??? I get ONE chance and you and Dirk get (4) looks, must be the GARLIC in front of Spaghetti Factory. Dirk is one lucky guy, he was cranking down when that take-down happened. Hahahahaha... Great Video.

You're funny. I'm going to blame my "swing and miss" on Dirk. He's suppose to bring the fish to the net. LOL. You'll get one, the springers come in batches and you'll be in the right place at the right time soon enough. I had 9 takedowns that didn't hook up before we finally started netting fish. It was getting a little frustrating. I'm not doing anything different than I normally do but we've just been very very lucky.

david we the wife and I are going out friday Thinking about wallammette park... or would you think st johns ramp will be better? We will be in my !* sportsman hewescraft..( LOVING LIFE ) THanks for all you do !!

Dave, I think fishing has been better upriver. Willamette park has been really steady for me. We were out Thursday and picked up two (my daughter and I). I'll be out there Saturday. There's plenty of effort all the way up to Oregon City. After limiting at 8:15am, my daughter and I took a boat ride up to OC and saw hundreds of boats so I'm guessing that there's a reason they are focusing on that area. Good luck out there.

good job gents..we managed to get 1 at drano lake in 2 days of fishing.how long to you expect the fishing to last on the will.

We are worried that the low counts going over the falls may result in a complete closure. If they don't close it, the fishing could continue. We're hopeful that the fish are just late rather than not showing up at all. I'm going to keep at it as long as I can.

What speed are you trolling?I seem to always be going faster than everyone.

Most of the time I'm not paying attention to Speed Over Ground (SOG) but I keep my lines at a 45 degree angle and make sure that I'm one crank off of the bottom. If you can't slow your boat down to match other boats, go a little heavier on your lead and find what it takes to get a 45 degree angle while bouncing the bottom. Good luck out there.
