Kinetic typrography can be done from Vegas, I haven't used it myself, but have seen examples. After Effects is generally used for this sort of thing, however. I only use Blender because I'm familiar with the interface, and prefer the 3D text, (usually). Also, syncing is much easier as you have realtime preview in Blender. All said and done, AE is gonna be best for someone starting out, don't know about Vegas. Keep in mind that KT is very slow in the making, regardless of program used. Cheers :)
