For everyone complaining about the price, read this. The problem with most other similar products (anker included) is that they use monocrystalline panels. In direct sunlight they are awesome. In anything less than that, they suck. Yes they are cheaper, but what good is a panel if you cant hike through the woods on a sunny day and get more than .4 amps from it? Powerfilms are expensive, but they are without a doubt the BEST. I have an anker 21w charger (21w is a lie since its limited to 3A total output. 5V X 3A is 15W). If I cover the corner of ONE of the six panels with my fingers, the overall output is at least cut in half, possibly more. Less than 2 square inches of shade completely handicaps the entire product. That is why Powerfilm is the best money you can spend for a solar charger.

Besides performing better in the shade amorphous panels are also way more resistant to damage. You can shoot a hole in these and the other 99% of the panel will still function normally and since it is foldable it will simply bend instead of breaking, crystalline won’t survive that. These panels are defintly worth their price!

Nice to see these portable solar chargers are getting better. Hopefully they will get cheaper in the next few years.

Someone commented that Canadian Prepper already did a review on this product. I had to set that person straight. I'm most definitely sure that Canadian Prepper was using sunlight from Canada. Where this American was probably using sunlight from America. I advised the other commenter to not leave out little details like that when comparing two very well-respected prepper icons.

ditch the flashlight, replace the power meter with a numeric percentage (example 1%-100%) LED. If its half charged I would like to see a led that reads 50%. attachment points at the battery end would be nice to tie to the bottom of a backpack.

Neat, will probably have to wait for some years before something like this is accessible price-wise to the average person

Seems the form needs a little work to make it waterproof. How is the performance though? Meaning how long does it take to charge the internal battery via solar?

I was thinking of getting one of these Lightsaver MAX's to charge my portable ecoflow river 600 solar generator with. The key value of this device for me, is it has a 12 Volt DC output, which is extremely useful in remote areas. Unfortunately, you have failed to mention the unit's maximum amperage output @12 Volts DC, so I could calculate the total Watts of charging power I can expect for the Lightsaver MAX.🤔🤔🤔

To me way overpriced. You can get two of their 13 W panels plus an Anker power bank for much less. This at $200 would be reasonable. This at MSRP of $399.99 no sale

Ben you really do great reviews. At this price point it should be perfect not being water proof is a killer IMO. Mor attach points for a backpack and as one of the other commenters said ditch the flashlight and use a digital charge indicator. Version 2 or 3 should be about right to get it right. For now it’s a pass.

Hi there. Really loving this chanel! I am new to bushcraft and am about to invest in my first bushcraft knife. My price range would be $50-$80 CAD. Currently checking out the Condor Bushlore and have seen mixed reviews. Wondering if you/anyone could speak to the quality of the Bushlore. And if you might recommend it over other knives, say the Mora Bushcraft Black (which I watched reviewed on this chanel) or other Mora's for that matter. Any help finding a long lasting reliable bucraft knife would be great. Thanks!

I'm not sure it's fair comparing it to anything Goal Zero has. It doesn't look like GZ offers anything portable that will output 12V at 5A peak. If your goal is to power a ham radio the Powerfilm wins. If I'm missing something please reply with a link!

I see a lot of people complaining about the price but you have to remember it’s made in the USA so that’s why it’s so expensive wait until it’s copied by China and it will be so much less. For me I don’t mind where it’s from just as long as it’s cheaper but works just as well
