queen ant (formally known as a gyne) is an adult, reproducing female ant in an ant colony; she is usually the mother of all the other ants in that colony. a better way to move ants is to shine a light in their old nest and provide a way from their old one into their new one. make sure that they conditions in their new nest is good and that it's dark. what you are doing stresses the ants.

I like your videos but I'm just curious about whether or not you could just connect the new and old farms together somehow and then drive the ants out of the old farm into the new one with lights. I've seen it done on another channel but they used a different kind of set-up that's what makes me ask. Also we're you able to catch any new leaf cutter ant queens? I know here in East Texas they should be about to start their nuptial flights if they haven't already.
