I love it when I get a mention. They certainly look interesting! I think I'll stick to my softie trousers but if I didn't have them already then I'd look at these as they pack down to nothing!

I wanted to see a review from a wild camper on these Naturehike down trousers and found your concise and worthwhile review. I got my Mountain Equipment Trango brand new Down Jacket from Bankrupt stoke for £150 (love a good deal) and with me Outdoor Reach winter gloves, layering system and me Montane baraclava plus Nature Hike down booties, I most definitely will be purchasing these Naturehike trousers to finish off my basecamp snuggle warm system. Many thanks! Liked and Subscribed

Right at the start I thought you were going to let us into a deep dark secret or something lol ;oD Loving the 'no intro' thang Dan, brilliant. The keks look and sound the business but did you check the ripstop rating? I'm guessing not. If it got really cold I'd probably wear them under a pair of 'insert any trews that have a decent tear rating here' ... just to protect them. Last thing you need is goose down all over the inside of your tent. Or are you intending just to use them as sleep gear? As for your penchant for 'panic packing', not completely a bad thing mate, I always envisaged what I'd do if I fell into a ditch full of cold water so always took a complete set of socks, underwear, some sort of wool top and a pair of trousers of some kind to change into that were not my sleep gear. Extra weight? yeah sure, life saving? Absolutely so i suppose its thinking about weight v safety and comfort. you won't believe how quick hypothermia can getcha. Great vid :o) on to the next 👍

Coming from one of the more prestigious units of HM forces (quite some time ago), I'm not rushing out to buy them- maybe because I live on the Gold Coast of Australia as well these days too (never see snow & locals consider 14 deg to be cold😵😜). If you're heading out in a temperate climate these things could be an absolute life saver, even if it's some other bugger you end up coming to the rescue of. If I was trekking & snow was an outside chance, I'd definitely want these in the rucksack. Around April you could probably take the combo instead of a sleeping bag😯👍

@@CampLifeBushcraft They were a good investment, got them about a week ago and used them hammock camping this past weekend and they worked like a charm in the low 40Fs, kept up with my Paradox Down Jacket and its rated for below -0F, I'm thinking about getting two more pair of them... thanks again.

Hi Dan - was searching for the size you got in the video - couldn't find it. I'm 6' tall; would you recommend a large? And they're not 30 quid any more !!! ;-0

I'm not home right now but I think the bigger the better. Pretty sure mine are large. They're elasticated so there is some stretch.

I have a pair. Very warm. Wght 6oz(xxl) Size - beware. I am 5ft 1". 29" leg. Clothes size uk 12. Got a pair of XXL. Length fits. Waist fits. Just a bit bulky round the backside but not bothered as will only be wearing them in mountain camp. So if you're 6ft an XXL will be too small in the leg for you.

I've been looking at a few different brands of down pants (already have a heavier synthetic set that's too bulky to backpack with). I'm hesitant to buy these, as I'd be wearing them for snow camping after backpacking or ski touring all day. These have no zipper or velcro at the ankle, and so can't be put on over your boots at camp. That would either mean having to set up the tent first, get into it, take off boots, then put on the pants, then put back on boots to go outside and cook or do camp chores. Too much hassle and time wasted. You can't really take off your boots and stand in deep snow to pull these on, without getting soaked, frozen socks and feet! While more expensive, the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer pants seem more well thought-out.

They look decent enough, prob not that spark resistant like my synthetic puffer jacket but if it's just for camping and messing about in what does it matter? I might invest, I presume there's a link in the description?😁

Just bought a pair I like them a lot but I was wondering should I keep them rolled up in the stuff bag it came in and just leave them in my backpack? Or would it be better to hang them up ? Just don’t want to damage the down if that’s even possible.
@CampLifeBushcraft
@CampLifeBushcraft 4 жыл бұрын
They say that with all down items you should not store them it in a stuff sack as it compresses the down, and you lose loft eventually ...getting them out and hanging them up is the recommended method. I have a down sleeping bag storage bag, which I store all my down gear in together, which is just a large net bag that hangs up.

What size did you go for. I'm 34 waist, 32 leg. Looking to buy a pair of these for around camp for autumn and spring camping. Also, very nice of your wife to bring you a brew out. My missus thinks I'm crazy when I get my gear out in the garden and doesn't stop moaning and having a go until I put it away.
