I think Middleweight is better than its ever been right now. There are so many exciting prospects in that weight class and its more skilled than I've seen it in a long time. In addition, unlike classes like Lightweight, the old guard is actually losing to the up and comers, meaning we are seeing a lot of fresh matchups. Fantastic and very interesting video, TheWeasle. I am not a fighter, so don't have an informed opinion on any weight class. But agree with what you say at the end of the video, that it would be great to do this every year. One suggestion that I would love to see personally, is say you do 2025's rankings - is to include the previous years score - and whether it went UP or DOWN based on the current new score for that weight class?

I really think that Arman and Gamrot are not boring. Gamrot is very wrestling heavy, and always jumps for those takedowns, but his fight are never actually boring. Always a really high pace, the Hooker fight being a prime example (although others were also at a very high pace)

I have to completely disagree with middleweight never having been that skilled a weight class, the 2015/16 middleweight division was really stacked - Bisping, Rockhold, Romero, Weidman, Souza, Mousasi, Whittaker, Silva, Belfort, Machida, Kennedy

This is probably a bit out there, but if I were Tom, I would offer Stipe his full purse to drop out of the fight. Or maybe even Volkov, so he can completely clean out the division with Gane & hold that over Jones' "legacy" for good. Hell, tell the UFC you'll give you're entire show fee to Stipe, and just run off the PPV points & win payout. As if Jones would ever agree to that fight, even if Stipe pulled out. Imagine, Stipe pulls out, Tom fills in, Jons pulls out, Stipe jumps back in, and Jones is left on the sideline with his 1 win heavyweight "legacy".

I think it's unfair to rank a fighter based on his weight class & the weakness or strength of that weight class or devision...it should be about resume...that's like saying Amanda Nunes isn't as good because she's fighting women, or the heavy weights aren't as good because the devision isn't as skilled...those are things they have no control over

i dont know if lightweight is as peak as before... islam already beat charles, arman, dustin, all contenders in the top 5 pretty much, plus arman and gamrot are probably two of the less popular fighters due to their style.. alex pereira is pretty much the face of the UFC keeping it going at the moment.. batamweight and even featherweight currently are more exciting and have more going on than lightweight at the moment
