Fun fact: My last vacation was in August of 2022. My girlfriend and I went to Vancouver. Every couple hours I thought to myself "In this awesome city that smells like ramen, surrounded by so many amazingly beautiful sights... Devin lives here."

Why not a song about simple things? Beatles did it too and they are still considered the best band in history of rock. It's more about the hidden complexity in a seemingly simple and catchy song. Interesting chord progressions and other little details do the magic.

IMHO this song doesn't fit into the "Lightwork". It should have been exchanged with one of the "Nightwork" songs, eg "Carry me home". It sounds like a filler song to me, but who am i to criticize Devin's decision. Nonetheless i really like the new album 👍
