R. C. Sproul is absolutely right that salvation pertains to the past, present and future. Christians have been saved, are being saved, and will be saved. We live now in the period of already-and-not-yet, when God has begun His work of salvation in us but has not yet completed it.

It is true that 'salvation' doesn't always refer to salvation from sin and hell in the Bible. But this is surely what the jailer means in Acts 16:30, when he says, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' It can't be a question about how to be saved from punishment by the civil authorities for letting prisoners escape, for the simple reason that the text is explicit in v. 28 that none of the prisoners had escaped, and the jailer knew this before asking his question of v. 30.

All elect anointed begotten sons of the Fathers incorruptible seed are chosen to be saviors. James 5:20, Obadiah 1:21. They are NOT the one and only Savior YHWH. Isaiah 43:11. Human saviors are those that lead the lost to the FATHER ALONE just like Jesus did.

We put our faith and trust in what the Father said and promised and HIM ONLY shall we serve just like Jesus said as does the 1st commandment Matthew 4:10. "I even I am YHWH beside ME there is NO SAVIOR" Isaiah 43:11, 45:5-7, Deut. 13. Jesus spoke the words of Truth FOR the Father as his prophet not of himself. As he clearly stated. All the "anointed" prophets in the OT did the exact same thing. No true Anointed (messiah) would EVER claim to be God Almighty. An abomination. Deut. 13.

If Jesus were just a prophet, then He spoke blasphemy when He said John 17:3. No one can say that but God alone. Jesus is God.

A few points: First, in John 20:28 Thomas says to Jesus, 'My Lord and my God.' It is striking that Jesus doesn't correct Thomas for this statement, which He would surely have done if he disagreed with it. Second, you are right that besides YHWH there is no Saviour. But if Jesus is YHWH (as I am sure He is), then this doesn't contradict any of the verses you cite. Third, in John 1:1 we are told that the Word was with God and was God. Being with someone implies distinction, but being someone implies identity. This verse only makes logical sense, therefore, if the word 'God' is being used in 2 different ways in this verse. And trinitarian theology has the answer. The first 'God' is referring specifically to the Person who is God the Father. And the second 'God' is referring to the Being that is God without distinguishing between Persons.
