I like going to ..ligonier.org...then hit "Conferences" (& much more, inc R C's sermons, etc)....but I have listened to and read these men a lot. I like all of them and all are friends...some (like Alistair and Sinclair, friends who grew up in Scotland), I know these 2 are very good friends. One time in a sermon Alistair said he felt like Sinclair was as a big brother to him. You are right of course...they must really get a great amount of joy between the hours of preaching & no doubt they and their wives must put some time together so to relax, have dinners out, etc. Most of all, on all the big important issues, they stand committed to work in the churches which the local churches are (I must think) are happy for them and their putting out all the great sermons, books, etc...so that not just pastors but the people in the pews may profit too. I have read R C and started out by coming across his audio messages some time ago...Alistairs internet site is dynamite, for sure...truthforlife.org...I am on it all the time and he is such a fine preacher. Sorry I rambled so much there, but do appreciate your comment.

Thank You Father YAHweh for thes instructions. Ephesians 6:10-12 Finally, my brothers, strengthen yourselves in Father YAHweh, and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of Father YAHweh, that you may be able to stand against the wiles; crafty ways, schemes, of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not only against flesh and blood, but also against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual forces of the evil one in the heavens. All that takes place in what we see with our eyes has a spirit that has an influence over what is being said, and how the other person is thinking. 1 YAHchanan 4: 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, to see whether they are from Father YAHweh; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you will know the Spirit of Father YAHweh: Every spirit that confesses that YAHShua Messiah started in the flesh is from Father YAHweh, 3 And every spirit that does not confess that YAHShua Messiah started in the flesh is not from Father YAHweh. So this is the spirit of the + Anti-Messiah which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 4 You are of Father YAHweh, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is He Who is in you, than he who is in the world. 5 They are of the world; therefore, they speak of the world, and the world hears them. 6 We are of Father YAHweh. He who knows Father YAHweh, hears us; he who is not of Father YAHweh, does not hear us. By these we can know the spirit of TRUTH, and the spirit of error.

I speak for myself only, but I THINK as a woman, these are truly men of God, the whom every godly woman longs to have as a husband and leader. I have watched every one of R. C. Sproul’s groups like this one, and my soul leaps with joy and anticipation, to imagine the eternal discussion with these godly souls and the Lord Jesus…I just want to be there near the Lord and beholding the environment of heavenly heavens with only godly souls surrounding us. In short, I am so grateful-and BLESSED-to have found this arena of holy men. I cry often, with tears of thankfulness, that the Lord Jesus has included me in his glorious presence.

These men are gifted speakers. But to call them each "holy"? RC Jr in particular is just the opposite. His life for almost 20 years has been a non-stop dumpster fire. Thankfully Ligonier came to their senses and kicked him off the Sproul Family Gravy Train. But he's still masquerading as a pastor and uses the title "Rev." That in spite of being forced to demit his ordination because his Presbytery wouldn't condone his marrying a 3-times divorced woman which he stole away from her husband after encouraging her to divorce in secret "marriage counseling" sessions.

I come to see this again. I love the Conferences. Some are very wonderful and special to me because I get very much from them and these men are so fine at teaching Bible, etc, that one has to return to them...there is so much to offer. There was a short time I got a bit away from some things (because although I have followed R. C. since 1971 or 1972, to rest of my life, I got discouraged some when it appeared the best Reformed men were more absent and some that were not so Reformed as R. C. or Sinclair, Alistair are, well, they are more Arminian leaning & were not why I came to this amazing ministry) All the Scotsmen I ever watched since these Conferences started were/are exceptional. That small nation gave us so much in solid, sound Reformed preachers. I miss R. C. so much and though happy he is with Christ, which is far better, I miss that wonderful man of God. I have been with Ligonier now for over 50 years.

Well I am 60 years old and nearly dead from cancer. I talked to a Baptist pastor because I didn't want to go to Hell. He said I was a sinner just for being born. I am truly sorry for anything I have done to offend my God and Jesus but I am not sorry for being born. I asked Jesus to save me from hell and forgive me for my offenses. Then you guys say that God must change me and not wanting to go to hell in not enough. I do not hate God but I don't have any great love for him. I am grateful that he says he will forgive me and I do feel love for him for that and it makes me sad to think about the crucifixion. I do not believe that everyone that comes to God is predestined to do so. I think maybe most are but some people like myself receive grace from God not because I do anything but because God just shows me pity and grace. God may even put some people on this earth just to be evil for whatever his plan is. If I thought for one moment that God decided the fate of all before he made anything I would hate him. What would be the point. If he just wanted some humans to be with him in heaven them what are the rest for, what is the point of their lives, something for God to watch in hell like we watch TV? Come on guys? Really? If I thought Calvin was right I would shoot myself now and just be done with the whole mess.

At the 9 minute mark, Dr. Lawson begins explaining what it means to be reformed. Ironically, the most important attribute of a reformed theologian, is the adherence to the principle of Sola Scriptural. Ironically, three of the major pillars of Ligonier Theological doctrine: Amillenialism, Dispensationalism, and the the Pretribulational Rapture, are neither Sola Scriptural, nor Reformation theology according to his own definition of Reformation theology. I'd love to sit in on one of you Q & A panels and show you, using Sola Scriptural, how much of your theology is comprehensive scholarly BS. "But", as RC often reiterated, "Other than that, I don't have an opinion!".

Alistair Begg gave a simple answer but these men do not live that way. Sproul, steve, and the rest only quote creeds, and augustine and calvin! They don't quote verse and context. They say they follow the gospel but regeneration before faith is not biblical!
@wonderbuilds65239 ай бұрын
If you read their other works or go elsewhere and watch videos etc., you will see them quote scripture profusely, just as did Calvin and Augustine also did. The doctrine is wholly biblical my friend. I suggest you study John 6:44 for example, which states that “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws Him.” Especially when you look at the various scripture verses which emphasize how dead we were in sin (Romans 3:23, Ephesians 2:1-5 are good examples), we must realize that we would never choose God on our own. That’s why God has to regenerate us, dead men can do nothing, thus He must give us new life before we can truly seek Him.
@gregtyler40027 ай бұрын
The problem with ‘faith before regeneration’ is that after a person holds in their heart they’re born again that it was their own work that prompted the working of the Holy Spirit. This always frames Man as being the very first step in God’s Will of salvation. God works everything for his own glory. Now we can understand how no man can boast in our Lord’s work.
