THANK YOU MY BROTHER FOR YOUR BRETHREN THROUGH CHRIST UNTO ME FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE BECAUSE OUR LORD IS RISEN . 👍

I'm a reborn Christian, 67 years old, and besides that, a physical and theoretical chemist also familiar with particle physics, cosmology, and relativity, and last but not least: psychoanalysis. I always feel awkward to come up with so many different fields. When there is one thing I really want to avoid then it's coming off as arrogant. Something simply drove me to do that. The Lord knows why. I also know the theological foundations of our faith quite well through my private Bible studies. You guys are doing a great job! I have translated the things mysterious for many like body, spirit, the interaction between these, our self, etc into simple pictures from the physics to be able to use them as memory aids. A small example: a born again Christian has internalized a special charge q since his rebirth, which has only the potential sensitive property of the Holy Spirit, with which he can get in contact with the force field of the Holy Spirit even if other interference fields let's say of natural mental nature affect us, such as cognitive biases. Are you interested? I would like to send you a small first draft and would be very interested in constructive criticism from you. Are you interested? God bless you! greetings from Germany.

If the Savior and the Father are of one substance,then you must admit that God now has a perfected form even if He did not have one before the Saviors earthly ministry.The prophet Joseph Smith made it very clear that we do not worship an invisible intellect, without body, parts or passions.

EXCELLENC, EXCELLENCE and again i say EXCELLENT: i will have to listen and re-listen to this serval time. this is an EXCELLENT thought provoking quest to understand: EXCELLENCE> sproul at the top of his game. what is spirit: start with what we know about matter. God is not a solid liquid gas nor plasma but the closest approximation to understand what a spirit is is within us. great line by sproul. where do you live instead where do you exist your being. now is your existence your body? how important is your mind to your personality?EXCELLENT is our mind matter begs the question are our thoughts matter? the nature of the mind is in a corrupted state until we have a re-birth i.e.; we are born again! my consciousness of myself takes place in my mind except for vanity i see my physical-matter i.e.; my body and have awareness of my physical state/judgement. Jesus tells us that the mind is corrupt this is not elusive but a sad fact because of the Fall in the Garden. reducing thinking to matter thus destroying the concept of personality as a myth. of course skinner would make this point because there is no room in a global-world-order for individuality or individual personality only what the state tells you can you think the state controls the personality your thoughts. this is happening don't kid yourself. Jesus is coming soon morning night or noon many will met their doom, trumpets will sound!!!!! what do you said to people who think like skinner, the deep state, the leaders of global-world-order: concepts like individuality, freedom, dignity are myths illustrations? i would say if individuality, freedom, individual dignity are myths, then what is left is non( individuality, freedom and dignity ) and we are left with non-reality. that is to say a concept that does not fit into the working order of God Creation or stated another way mythical individualities, freedoms, and human dignity and only non-individuality non-freedom and non-dignity lead despair and suicide death. our thoughts are determine reactions: Peter tells us to give an answer for the hope we have, thus not to give skinner an answer serve his propose. skinner is right thoughts are reactions and since we are corrupted until we have our re-birth born again, without God to guide our thinking with the WORD OF GOD, we have only non-individuality etc. we live in our conscience interesting! thus our conscience needs to be clear before God. i think therefore i am wrong God thought therefore i am. i am because God is I AM. if a man die shall he live, Jesus I AM the Truth The Life and The Resurrection, if you believe in Me though you die yet shall you live. is there more to humanity than matter, absolutely yes, Jesus proved it by resurrecting the dead in His earthly ministry and in His own resurrection: i'm afraid, no cause the world is more than we know. what is reality? What God says is true and what God says is true is recorded in the Holy Bible. What is truth, thy Word is Truth and the Word become Flesh! who is Jesus? the invisible who became visible. worship is that which comes from the heart and is inflamed with love for God.

There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 1Co 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

@@dw-rh6fb We don’t know what God truly is. “Spirit” doesn’t really explain anything. Without God the universe (the earth) the sun, day and night cycles, and life would not exist. We can only exist in the flesh with human bodies. Without physical bodies, we don’t exist. Our physical bodies along with everything in it, makes us and keeps us alive. When the body dies, we are dead.

OMGoodness! RC pronounces it "woiship"! I love you, Dr. Sproul and your teaching loses none of its strength for your lack of pronunciation but it does amaze me. ----------------------------- My argument to your professor's question would be that Jesus is God and Jesus has a body, therefore the Mormon is not wrong on this point. Fitting in with the notion of the triune God, God both does and does not have a body. God transcends our mortal thinking on this issue. My personal view is that Jesus has been that man that he is since before the foundation of the world. When it says we are made in God's image, I take that literally, both physically and spiritually. We, too are triune. I think Jesus and Adam would have looked like twins. I think it was the man Jesus when scripture talks about "the Lᴏʀᴅ God walking in the garden in the cool of the day." I have a tendency to ascribe every Godly thing in the Bible to Jesus Christ unless it is undeniable not Jesus, like when God the Father spoke from Heaven at Jesus' baptism. I think the flame in the dark that walked between the animal pieces Abraham had laid out was Jesus. I think the burning bush Moses saw was Jesus. I don't think there is a problem with that because all three members of the Godhead are "co-equal," as they say. If I should mistakenly call the Father Jesus, I have done nothing wrong for Isaiah tells us the Son will be called "the everlasting Father" (Isa 9.6). Does God have a body? Sure seems like it to me. Is God a Spirit? Scripture says plainly He is. God is to us, as is often the case, an enigma. Glory to our triune Gᴏᴅ!

How unfortunate to see that the vast majority of people have misunderstood God. God is indeed a Physical Being, and if you want to know how He looks like, just look at yourself in the mirror. We are all in His Image.

Habakkuk 1:12 Are you not from everlasting, O Jehovah? O my God, my Holy One, YOU DO NOT DIE. If Jesus was God in a flesh form, then humans have SEEN God at SOME TIME. However, the Apostle John who had SEEN Jesus, categorically wrote: 'No man has SEEN God at ANY TIME.' - 1 John 4:12 Any time takes in ALL POSSIBILITIES. Meaning NEVER. Trust this helps.

@@tongakhan230 wow. You again. You're still using the same tired arguments that have been debunked. God cannot change in reference to his character but God change in other ways. For example, when God is angry or happy with people, that is a change in his disposition. So stop taking verses out of context. God cannot die, so the second person of the trinity took on humanity so he could die. Physical death is the separation of soul/spirit (the immaterial part of people) from the body, not the cessation of the person. So when Jesus died, he didn't cease to exist. The immaterial part of him was in paradise (heaven). Again, as I've pointed out to you before, there are two persons in Joh 18 called God. The God whom no one has ever seen is clearly identified as the Father in the context. But no one familiar with the OT would say that God has not been seen (cf. Gen 18:1, Exo 24:10). John clearly presents Jesus as God (Joh 1:1, 1:18, 20:28, 1Jo 5:20) and Jesus claims to be God in John's gospel (Joh 8:58). Jesus is God, coequal to God the Father in essence/nature.

What about Jesus's resurrected body? If he ascended to Heaven, then the second divine person - and therefore God - has some form of a body. Which also contradict the assertion of the Bible (and Christians) that God does not change, since before the second divine person became a man, it (he?) did not have a body, but now after the ascension it/he does.

Materialists have as many problems as anybody. No matter what configuration atoms are arranged in, matter does not become conscious. Configuration does not produce consciousness. The brain does affect emotions, memory, and reasoning. That's brain chemistry. But brain chemistry does not explain the fact that I know I have emotions and memory and that I'm thinking. The soul is the spirit of man. It is not physical. It is the ego. The ego is me. I make decisions based on what I want at any given moment. What I want depends on what I believe.

You make an interesting point but may I also add that materialist also have a problem with personal identity. How is it when your physical body undergoes changes and that every cell in our body is replaced with new ones that you can know that you are the same person. Personal identity can't be based on our physical bodies but in the soul.

A Mormon here. Since Mormons were mentioned by him, I would be happy to further the conversation with anyone here who is willing provided I don't get banned from this channel. The resurrection is the re-uniting of the spirit with the body. Spirit is life, and no body can live without the spirit. When Jesus was crucified, His spirit left His body and His body died. When Jesus was resurrected on the third day, His spirit was re united with His body, and he could again be seen and felt. His beloved disciple John leaned his head on the breast of the Savior. Jesus did not lose His resurrected body when He ascended into Heaven. When Jesus returns to the Jews in the end, the surviving Jews will be able to see and feel the nail prints in His hands and Feet, and feel His side. The godhead represents the Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit of God, and they should be worshipped as one God. It is the Holy Ghost that can be everywhere and pervade all things. The first Christians would be baptized in water for the remission of sins, wherein their body was washed clean inside. The ordained priests would then lay their hands on their heads for the reception of the Holy Ghost, wherein they would be baptized by God with fire and with the Holy Ghost. It was then that the gifts promised by Jesus in Mark 16 would follow those that believed and were baptized. They could prophesy, speak in tongues, interpret in tongues, heal the sick, raise the dead, etc. The Spirit of God was described as the sound of a rushing wind.

Isaiah 43:10-11 Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior. You will not become a god. Satan is not Jesus’ brother (Jesus created everything and everyone, even Satan). You worship a false Christ and you need to repent and believe the truth. In love …
@smallhelmonabigship35242 жыл бұрын
@@PilgrimNinja The Hebrew word for God is Elohim, which means Gods plural. Or even Godhead. Worship the one true Godhead. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Three different beings. Everything in the universe is done under the authority of the one true Godhead, and there is no higher authority. It is common for Protestant and Evangelical denominations to misrepresent Mormon beliefs even to the point of ridicule and mockery of Mormonism, wherein they bear false witness that Mormons believe they will somehow displace God. If you are honest of heart, what I am about to say I hope may give you pause to think and ponder. But, if your mind has been bound by the shackles of your religious persuasion, then what I am about to say won't move you. For people that work and create things with their hands, they can appreciate this. Everything we do in this life, the work we do, the workmanship of our hands, the knowledge and wisdom we learn, will better benefit us in the life to come. People are simply not happy, unless they have a purpose in life. A job to do, responsibilities to manage, to have people that depend on us. We were designed and created to be this way. If we are eternal beings and we live forever, what do you think we will be doing every day for the next forever? If we live forever, and we build and create forever, then it can be said that there is no end to our works. There is no end to our creations. There is no end to the workmanship of our hands. The Scriptures say that those who are saved, become joint heirs with Jesus Christ to all the fullness of the Father's kingdoms. The Savior doesn't replace the Father. All things the Savior does, Every world and kingdom he creates, He does with an eye single to the glory of the Godhead. Now just look at the stars in the sky. There is no end to the numbers of stars. With our most powerful telescopes, we can see billions of stars in our galaxy. We have found numerous planets in orbit around many of those stars. What is more, we can see tens of billions of galaxies, each containing billions of stars in them, just like our own galaxy. The workmanship of God's hands is truly endless. Just think about that and ponder it, if your mind isn't shackled, and then ponder whose beliefs are more illogical and unreasonable, Mormonism or modern Christianity?

In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God, the same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made. Jesus Christ is clearly taught to be the Word in human form. He is now and ever will be in a body, so it is perfectly correct to say that God has a body. The Father has not, neither has the Holy Spirit who are the other two person who compose the Godhead.
