20:00 But it's not simply about God's "attitude" - it's about His ESSENCE: "God IS Love" - Which means that even the most extreme exhibition of His wrath is rooted and grounded in His essence - Love. Dr. Sproul was once my professor at RTS - and he is a compelling orator. But after 15+ years as a Calvinist (and a PCA pastor) a veil was removed - and I accepted the simplicity of the deepest revelation in Scripture: God IS Love. For me, this changed *everything* .... One of the Westminster Divines, Peter Sterry came to see this as well... He wrote some of the most beautiful words outside of Scripture: "Dear Soul, whoever, whatever thou art, thou art the Offspring of God. St. Paul citeth this from a Poet, confirmeth it by a Divine Testimony, applyeth it Universally to all, maketh it the ground of Evangelical Truths, and Loves; Acts 17. 28. As some of your own Poets have said; We are his Off-spring. St. Paul hath something very like this, Ephes. 3. 9. The Gospel was hid in God from the Foundation of the World, who made all things by Jesus Christ. God had the love of the Gospel in his Heart, and sowed it as a secret Seed in the Foundations of the whole Creation, when he made all things by Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Seed of Nature, as well as of Grace, and so lieth hid in the Bosom of every Creature, as the true Pearl in the Field. That Divine Image, of which we spake before, was the similitude only, the Mother of Pearl; This is the Substance, the Pearl itself. In the Off-spring of God is the Seed of God. Where the Seed of God is, there is God himself in the Vertue, Power, and fulness of his Divine Nature. For so the Seed of every Plant hath that Plant Virtually, and Spiritually in it. Be now no more unbelieving; but believe. Believe the love, which God hath to thee. Believe, that all the Inclinations of the Divine Will are to thee; that the Eye, and heart of God are turned toward thee in every place, fixt upon thee with all that intention, and force of Sweetness in the Divine Nature. For why? He is drawn irresistibly to his own Seed, his own Son, his own self in thee. Thou art his Off-spring."

God does love everyone the same. Yet because He is just He must judge the sinner. When He says He hates Esau and loves Jacob it doesnt not mean that He emotionally hates Esau, He's means He chooses Jacob to bring His promise through just as He chose Abraham and Issac. Paul isn't speaking about salvation in Romans 9, He speaking about how God is going to save both the Jews and the gentiles. He's saying that God chose a man Abraham, from Abraham he chose Isaac, from Isaac Jacob, from Jacob the nation and from that nation the Messiah. God is not vindictive, He isn't in heaven walking around hating people as you think, that is absolutely ridiculous. The bible says God is love. He IS LOVE, He doesn't only have love. This is a misrepresentation of God, this message is evil.

There is no joy is this understanding of the Gospel because it is not Good News for All people and does not warrant the Baptist proclaiming 'Behold the Lamb of God who takeas away the Sin of the World'. I find it generally produces a terror of God but not a genuine love of the Father and certainly does not cast out fear. The Calvinist interpretation of Romans 9 -11 is not consistent with the God who is Love (not simply having love as one attribute among many). It is worth noting the conclusion of Paul's argument in these chapters found in Romans 11v32-36 and considering what he says in the light of this. Grace and peace.

Tatersalad19Cars... ...to give the right perspective to the transcendent/imminent manifestation of soteriological election, the very realization of your sentiment is precisely the effect that election has upon those for whom it is intended. This is so essential and even existential... it eviscerates the nonsense of "easy believism"-as well as disintegrates fatalism... because fatalism is the slipknot of those who are without that conviction. Christ's hand of salvation is not simply there for the asking-so, "that's all you got to do... ”... but rather- it's all you CAN DO!" And until that earnest heart of desperation is the accompaniment of repentance... nothing else can be done... because anything else will not do. Attempted metaphysical conceptualization in space-time produces strategical doom... And any assertion that "happened before the foundation of the world" (though theologically correct) suffers the corollary dissonance of what is happening in the imminent (now). Election re-incorporates the will *into* living what's coming right- at you! So it makes no sense to ask God to "elect" you because you can only ask (even beg) God to save you- now! And this is the exact opposite of fatalism. This is the necessity of credo baptism... In fact, it could be argued that pedobaptism is fatalistic because it never really _involved_ the individual... and as alluded to above- election *involves* the person! *†* (With all love to our Presbyterian Bretheren!). Soli Deo Gloria

My answer would be 'yes', and that the reason he did so is why we are declared righteous in the sight of the Father and made acceptable to enter Heaven. @JohnO3185 жыл бұрын
@@simba9735 In Christian theology, two of the most important doctrines are justification and sanctification. They both pertain directly to the overall Doctrine of Salvation. They are like two sides of the same coin. On the one hand, justification happens in a believer's life one time, the moment God changes their heart from lost to saved, or spiritual birth, born again. You could look at this as a one-time experience in the Believers life. This person is now "justified" (declared righteous) in the eyes of God. Some great scriptures to look up regarding this would be John 1:12 and Colossians 1:13, Romans 4:4-5, but obviously, there are many many many scripture verses regarding Salvation. On the other side of the coin is sanctification. Whereas justification is a one-time event, sanctification is a lifelong process. This is where we believers pick up our cross daily and follow Christ. To understand in a basic way, justification and sanctification both have what you might call negative and positive aspects, negative meaning subtract and positive meaning add. The negative aspect of justification would be the subtraction of our sins because Christ was punished in our place. The positive aspect would be the addition of Christ's righteousness to the Believers personal account because Christ lived a perfect life in the Believers place. The word "sanctification" means to be set apart for a holy purpose. The negative aspect of sanctification is to be set apart from sin. The positive aspect of sanctification is to be set apart to God. This information is basic Christian theology found in most any Christian theology book on the subject of salvation and taught in Bible colleges and Christian seminaries. All Christians should share this with the world. It is the best news anybody could ever know and most importantly, Believe. Trust Christ!!! I hope this helps you and you write it down somewhere and share it with others.

Comparison? Really? I don’t think so. The theology of balance just doesn’t work. It is relative goodness, pure earthy mediocrity… detestable. Yes! God hates it! “Hebraism?” No! Gospel reality. But, if you are hell bent on saving the old order and squeezing Jesus Christ down to its insipidness, you’ll accept that “Hebraism”explanation; you have no choice. RC doesn’t really fix the problem in the second half. A gospel of balance and comparisons is a gospel of merit. Even David struggles realising that there is something about this way of relating to the “official” image of God that is incomplete and suggestive of something else rather than efficacious itself. In the light of Christ and the righteousness that is “apart from the law” (David’s native religious culture) we should expect David to be dealing somewhat unstably with his experience of sin and guilt. It is a great mercy that he hoped that those shadows of another righteousness had some real significance beyond their contemporary form. That The Son incarnates via these shadows is no credit to Israel! He and we are tempted to consider the balances of David’s native law to adequately represent the righteousness of God which is apart from law. This is what God hates, this trivial, deceptive, detracting view of the relativity of good and evil. In a different set of circumstances, Paul would say, “Let them castrate themselves”. This setting aside of The Son is detestable.

This is a message which is sadly missing in the evangelical Church at large. Sproul is repeating the message of solid biblical thinkers like Johnathan Edwards (sovereign grace, sovereign judgement, and universal human evil). Was not “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” the most consequential sermon ever given in the English language? In the beginnings of the Great Awakening? That preceded the American Revolution? That created the greatest, most free nation state ever? But the Americans will surely lose their freedom unless they repent!

God loves those who loves them and hates who hates him and his followers thats a fact but people are woundering about the damnd physiology ,see adamned is blocked by heaven according to intentions or behaviour they did or those from crossed the boundaries see in every truth to right path in life or to God path a damned will fine you an excuse to take you back to wrong track again while God matters are clear but a damned is blocked and even those who trying to see of God rage gathers them with bad influences that biggest job in their life is to keep them away from right track to God and thats exactly why God prevented to even sit and chat with those damneds for they are contiguous thats another reason why a believer shouldnt waist their energy and breath in trying to convince any of any truth , tell God's truth and make sure you do it the way it please God then full stop .God prevented things for good readons and i believe/totally agree about even these i cant see why of holly laws and blindly do , its God who guides i dont recall being anybody mama to advice my heart out them , lol i doubt if iam willing to do that to even a son if he stupid enought and didnt listened to me may be God selected him for hell .!!😁😀

R.C. can literally place a solid Christian into depression. His 25 point Calvanist approach is a tough one to adopt but somehow you people do....yeah I know that it is 5 point but he takes it even farther than your typical hopeless Calvy.....I guess with election we just hope that faith in Christ comes with really good luck

This is careless exegesis of Romans 9. Paul is clearly speaking to Israelites only (v. 3-4, which he skipped)... And the reference to Jacob & Esau is speaking of two nations (Gen 25:23), not 2 people. This has nothing to do with Salvation... He's referring to the promise of the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob... The Lord Jesus Christ! (Gal 3:16)

Sorry you have ZERO understanding of Romans 9 the text states , that the purpose of God according to election might stand ( individuals) not groups of people . Sound like you’ve never read the text before . Or your just regurgitating what some preacher said that don’t know what He’s taking about . Arminianism is heresy . Please more studying and less commenting .

@@paul.etedder2439 You are the one regurgitating the false premise of election. Paul SAYS he is speaking of the Israelites in v. 3-4. And I agree... Arminianism is heresy. So is Calvinism...

@@thewadester You guys love throwing the "heresy" word around until it literally means nothing. Pray tell, considering that Arminianism and Calvinism are the *only two options* , how exactly can they both be heresy?

Romans 9 is 100% talking about individuals, NOT about nations. You have to understand that the Bible has these things called "chapters" added by modern people. They are not broken up into chapters in the actual text. Therefore what is in chapter 8 of Romans, which is clearly talking about the golden chain of redemption of the INDIVIDUAL, and the thought continues in Paul's letter to the Romans in what we call chapter 9. We must read the Bible properly in the way it was written. To read this passage as information about nations is incredibly incoherent and irresponsible foolishness. To believe the text is not talking about individual election is to display zero integrity in reading the Scriptures.

@@paul.etedder2439 I totally agree 100% of what you just wrote God uses Paul to explain salvation is gods choice how much more clear r can God give you it’s not the one who runs it’s not the one who wills God chose before they did anything good or evil and then they try to band twist in reading to scripture to get free will unbelievable Who all is talking about salvation not bringing forth a race having mercy is salvation And so many other Bible verses say the same thing you can’t come to me unless it’s been granted by my father that’s another choice
