日本人です。100円ショップの動画も大好きだったけど、この動画も私のお気に入りになりました。Reasonable PriceなStoreに行った時のママはとっても面白い!I LOVE to see her get so excited, and become unstoppable in the stores。まるで、私の母親を見ているみたい!
When I travel, exploring grocery stores is my favorite thing to do! We have fabulous food in New Orleans so with the exception of local favorites, I tend to eat out of grocery stores in other countries. My all time favorite is Waitrose in the UK. Awesome sandwiches on artisan breads, amazing array of cookies and chips, unusual candy and soft drinks - it's all there. After a long day of sightseeing I much prefer to sit in my pajamas in the hotel with a great grocery store meal. It's a lot cheaper, too!

Hello fam! :) I saw that Ruth was saying that powdered sugar is really expensive. If you guys have a food processor/blender you can make it yourself with regular sugar :) It's one cup of Granular sugar with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch.
I love your shopping videos, I Ifeel like I'm shopping .

I am enjoying your videos, and your beautiful family. It’s nice to learn of a different culture. After watching a recent I was wondering about medical care , how you found a pediatrician, how are the hospitals for care ? Loved the grocery store tours and the school sports day. Thanks for letting us into your life in Japan. God bless 🙏🏼

It's challenging, that's for sure. But there's a national health plan that you pay for in Japan that covers a lot of stuff. Just the way you use it is very different than in Western countries.

Thank you for the reply. I just watched your two videos of Joshua’s burn accident. Very informative. Once of our sons sustained a similar burn, he is 30 now and no scars ! He’s also a firefighter ! Hope Joshua healed well 🙏🏼. I’ll try to look forward to see what you’ve already covered before I ask questions 🙂

Stay away from Japan. Radioactive contamination problem is still ongoing problem in Japan. Almost 18,000 Japanese people died with cancer or leukemia caused by radioactive contamination from Fukushima. Stop eating radioactive contaminated food and water. Otherwise, you're going to get cancer, leukemia or infertility. Japan WAS good country but it's severely contaminated by radiation since Fukushima earthquake happened in 2011. Additionally Japanese government is trying to hide the truth about radioactive contamination. However, People have the right to know the truth and what's going on really in Japan.

If someone from The US wants to get a little taste of Japan they can go to Hawaii. Southwest Airlines has some super affordable flights to Hawaii now too. I took advantage of that in late 2021.

@Miss Asian Peach I have some Japanese friends who lost their loved ones to cancer caused by radioactive contamination. They ran away from Japan and moved to the United states.

Another lovely video, makes me miss shopping in Japan! And hopeful I can try baking this time :) Ruth is inspiring :D thank you so much for taking your time to make these :)
I always go grocery shopping at OK, Gyomu Super, Mega Don Quixote (the one you went to in another video), and Aeon. Naka-ku Yokohama has lots of cheap grocery stores! Soooo gonna miss Mega Donki when I move to Enoshima... We don't have Inageya in Yokohama. It looks like a nice store! I also personally love Shokuhinkan Aoba (食品館あおば)because they sell animal organs (kidney, spleen, uterus, etc), which is VERY difficult to find in Japan. I need them because I feed my pets raw. (And it's funny because I'm gonna name my second ferret Aoba)

Today's video is a super feature. "Business supermarket" is cheap, but I think the product lineup is small. As high-end supermarkets, Odakyu OX and Seijo Ishii sell good products with a focus on quality, but they are expensive. Major supermarkets balance quality and cost, but I think they are a little expensive. When I lived in Sagamihara, I went to the "OK Super" in my neighborhood. I thought the price was cheaper. REUTTER-family Mommy knows the price well and is a shopping professional.
I always watch youtube. Thank you for the fun video. But you should distinguish between'shake'and'salomo'. 'shake' is overwhelmingly tastier than'salomo'. It depends on how you cook.

While we're on the topic of shopping and since it is almost the end of the year, I'd love to see you guys do a video on fukubukuro or lucky bags for new years. It would be fun to see everyone do a surprise unboxing and see just how lucky (or unlucky) u are with those random lucky bags.
With round konjac, Ingredients (for 3 people) Round konjac 200g Soy sauce 30ml Sake 30ml 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon doubanjiang How to make 1 Wash the konjac with a colander. 2 Put all the ingredients in a pan and simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and put it in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. (The taste stains here) 3 When you eat, warm it up again to complete. (When you warm it up again, I think it's better to heat it in the microwave as much as you eat.) Tips to make it delicious The more you put it in the fridge, the more it will soak in the taste, so you can make it and eat it for a few days.
Eu adorava experimentar as comidas e tinha uma maionese que era uma delícia e realmente alguma frutas eram muito caro e podia comprar inúmeros produtos só davam 3 sacolas plásticas rsrsrs.

Those shops prefer cash payment to credit card or so, because by doing so, they do not have to pay around 3% of charges to credit card companeis. Amex is known for charging extraordinary higher charge on those shops. The 3% is quite critical for those discount shop for the sake of price competition that they rely on. I, however, personally don't like cash payment. BTW don't you American people miss the check payment, which is rarely accepted in Japan.

Those shrimps are not tempura. They are called ebi-furai 🍤. You don't use bread crumbs to make tempura. 😊
@kuma86423 жыл бұрын
In most English speaking countries we call a large majority of fried shrimp “Tempura” instead of fried shrimp (even in Japanese restaurants in America all the fried shrimp has Tempura in the title) especially if they’re longer shrimp in size compared to our normal. I think she was just translating for the English speaking viewers like the slang of what we’d call it.

Do you find that $8 strawberries and $20 cantaloupes are better in quality, or are the high prices just a reflection of Japan's limited agricultural resource where they have to import many things?
@LIJ Жыл бұрын
It's a bit of both, honestly. It's usually so expensive that we don't buy them - we just wait to have them when we're traveling abroad.
