Chengdu Metro lines 18 and 19 also run at up to 160 km/h. Both go to Tianfu Airport, which is far from the city center.

no, it's 140km/h as type A train, still a typical metro train, the only 160km/h metro right now in China is line 18&22 in Guangzhou and Daxing airport line in Beijing

2021年国庆特别从珠海去广州拍18号线，那时候快车是从冼村一站直达番禺广场，只需要15分钟左右。那时候好多市民都专门来体验，连南沙区的终点站万顷沙都全是人。上车后每个乘客都在拍速度表到160km/h的时刻，速度真的到了之后大家纷纷赞叹“真系咁快！”。我到番禺广场站站厅的第一眼就被震撼，即使后面去看深圳地铁的岗厦北站也没有再体会到那种“仿佛置身未来”的震撼。想来竟然已经是3年前的事情了……

Actually, South Korean 'GTX' is already open (partially) and it reaches the high speed of 180km/h. So technically, this is not the fastest subway train even now.

But in fact, GTX is not part of the Seoul subway route.

@@手帕夜魔 It is not a Seoul Subway route, but it's a Seoul Metropolitan Subway route, and it will connect areas within Seoul. Since transportation cards are used in GTX, whereas intercity trains only accept tickets purchased by credit cards and cash, it certainly is a subway line.

@@hpiprohb @hpiprohb The difference is that Seoul Subway is managed by the city of Seoul itself, whereas some routes in Seoul Metropolitan Subway are managed by Gyeonggi-do and the Korean government, and may not technically go via the city of Seoul.

But,other line of GuangDong Intercity (which is part of Guangzhou Metro)like Guangqing Line,Guangzhao Line and Guanghui Line is 200KM /H,these lines is operating by Guangzhou Metro’s GuangDong Intercity,not subway route but also under Guangzhou Metro,also it can use transportation card,in the feature, they has a plan for connect Intercity and metro by unified ticket system and the system of train can run both in intercity and subway and passengers can transfer seamlessly between intercity and subway

@@SFsRailDepot i know right... the train design speed is there, but the tracks aren't. Speeding up the TML would speed up the journey time by about 5 minutes for the whole journey, and if TML train frequency is blocked by not enough trains, at least run the trains faster so you can squeeze the extra one train an hour.

工程角度睇唔到有咩突破？車骨好厚 😂根本係未用盡力學去慳位台車一定係用高鐵台車我覺得電弓太少滿員就大鑊啦 220km以上地鐵根本係必要因為中國實在地太大而家先160有啲慢

其實佢設計就唔只係為廣州市區設計嘅，佢未來仲要connect到中山珠海同清遠依家施工緊花都段同中山段佢係廣州市區用地鐵申報其他區間按照城際鐵路申報

台灣很缺乏這種城際間的捷運系統，例如台北近郊到台北市區其實很適合這種方式建造捷運，不僅可以減少台鐵負擔，還可以讓國道不再那麼塞

@ZhiHong0626 你想想，如果真的要開這麼一條地鐵，你要開在哪？廣州市很大，因此18號線從東邊開到西邊全場將近60公里，比機捷還長，全程只有8座車站，最長的站距甚至逼近單一條淡水線，作為大城市快速通勤的手段很合理，但你要是真在台灣開這麼一條線那麼豈不是城際列車了。這種地鐵必然都是途經重要地帶，然而在台灣就是妥妥的全部擠在台北裡，你在市內最多設個3站而已。何況這種地鐵的維護成本巨大，票價必然增加，然而你放在台灣又有多少人需要此等需求，需要多花錢換取時間？（即使票價更貴，廣州人可以透過這條線於城市裡快速移動並轉乘，因此花費這些價錢是值得的，然而市內交通對台灣來說無非就是捷運坐個幾站的事，這樣一來高速地鐵的使用者僅剩跨縣市使用者，最終會不敷成本）而且，你認為機捷開直達車是幹嘛用的？

This is should be the more suitable replacement (as bad as having a Chinese train replacing anymore non Chinese train in MTR) for CAF-Trains that MTR is trying to get rid of. Not stupid modified Q-Train.
