Thats what music is about! Expressing your emotions over the musical instruments! I would rather see a musician that shows musical passion on stage, than a musician just going thru the notes on their guitar like a machine. Neil is one of the best. I wish we had musicians like him today!!!

I've never understood people who say that Neil isn't a great guitarist. Is he great in the same way that Malmsteen or Vai is great? No. He's great in a way that no one else is great, and as you've demonstrated here, trying to replicate what he does is as difficult as replicating what those other guys do. Neil didn't just play that Les Paul on those early records: he assaulted it. He pounded sounds out of it in a way that no one else would have ever thought to do, and he did it essentially as a folk rocker. That you managed to nail his style here is just amazing. You've just earned a subscriber and a thumbs-up.

I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years and Neil is hands down the hardest guy to imitate. His style is completely his own, and it kinda makes me mad when people write him off as a “bad” guitar player. He knew exactly what he was doing, he creates emotions with his guitar.

Wow that was so good..I’ve heard that solo for over 40 years.....you captured the soul of the solo.....very well done..my respect to you. I also love his noise, picking mistakes and mis-strikes , also his pitches and squeals that make the sounds in this solo so perfect.

I’ve been playing Neil Young shows for a good few years now and just want to say I think this one of the best accounts-performance wise and analytically-of his lead playing I’ve ever seen. As you say, many people see his limitations but not his extraordinary strengths as a soloist. I loved your impassioned explanation of the emotional energy he puts into his playing and your praise of him is all the more persuasive given that you can play superbly in so many styles. He is a feel player to the zenith and shows what it’s possible to do if you work devotedly within your limits whatever they happen to be. A brilliant video. Many thanks.

Kelly in 1953 the Music industry changed the standard instrument tuning from 432hz to 440hz. Neil's new album Love Earth is in 432hz all instruments be a leader and it really feels better with the correct frequency of Mother earth. Have a great day brother. I sold my record collection yesterday for 250. bucks as I don't listen to much 440hz music anymore. Your playing is awesome. I'm learning it in 432hz, Jimbo

Oh yeah, I'll always take an expressive "simplistic" solo over a mathematically precise "mind-bogglingly technical" one. I love your playing and I don't really care if it's exactly like what Neil played or not as long as the "message" is there. I actually prefer that "inexactitude" and variation to be honest. On the other hand, your commentary on this one is incredibly accurate and to the point. Great job as usual, Kelly!

hi Kelly, I've always loved NEIL YOUNG and over the years I've had the opportunity to listen to thousands of tributes of this splendid creation by Neil ... But your solo is the only one that generates the same emotion as the original solo !!! You are great !!! Grazie ❤ Sandro from Italy

I just stumbled across your channel, and after checking out your videos, I had to subscribe. We're from the same music era, which leads me to this question. I've been playing since the early 70's, and when we wanted to learn something, it was in front of the turntable playing one little track over and over and over till we finally figured it out. I'm sure you can relate, whether it was a turntable or tape. One song I struggle with to this day and just can't really figure it out is a song by Mahogany Rush called "Child of the Novelty." If you ever have the time, take a listen to it, has a Hendrix feel to it. Then if you wanted to do a cover or a quick lesson...... and I get it if you'd rather not put the time in it. Either way, great playing, great channel.

Hey man, thanks! You nailed it. Turntable and a book of matches for me. Jam those matches under the turntable to slow it down, de-tune the guitar so it was the same pitch, and off I went. Primitive, but it worked. It's all I had. I love Frank Marino's playing. I'm gonna check out that tune as it's not ringing a bell. Hendrix vibe from Frank for sure, but way faster. Seriously underappreciated guitarist from that era.
