Can I ask something? I’ve always had a grudge against God and you want to know why? It’s because I was diagnosed with high functioning autism and ADHD when I was four years old. When I was six or seven my mom wanted to sign me up for my sacraments at our church. But when she mentioned my diagnoses to the director, the woman paused and then told my mom to homeschool me. After hearing that story all my life, I’ve always taken that statement personally. If a woman at a church rejected me because I’m autistic, then I’ve felt like that was God rejecting me. And so I find it hard to accept God and Jesus. And is it wrong if I find it easier to believe in science, and if I don’t agree with religious beliefs, but I still want to accept the love of Jesus?

Hi. I'm sorry that your experience with the church director left you with feelings of rejection by God. I want you to know that her actions are her own; her rejection is not a reflection of God. For he will never reject you. He will never abandon you. He will never hate you. Sometimes people in our own churches care unable to follow Christ the way he would want us to. After all, people are only human and people make mistakes. God, however, does not make mistakes. And when he made you, he made you in his image and likeness-- exactly the way you should be. Please do...accept the love of Jesus. Science is facts and it will only lead to truth. Jesus is the truth. If you delve deeper into science and seek the truth, I'm sure you will find yourself closer to God. God is our shepherd and we are his sheep. Listen true to the words of this song, and know that God loves you unconditionally. God wants what's best for you. Should we hold a grudge against someone who loves us and who only wants what's best for us? I will pray for you.
