I have a schimmel from this era, and Robert is right the action is fantastic! Schimmel piano benches are superior because of that little crank. The volume of my piano can easily blast people with sound, but it's tough to get ultra pianissimo. I'd replace my schimmel if I somehow had an extra 90k to spend on a bosendorfer.

I can see why someone would have wanted it ass furniture if its looks were to their taste, but it is too nice not to be played. Just the same, its upper midrange is a bit brighter than I prefer. There's a Petrof that you played just a few days ago, the "Storm", that was the most perfect-sounding European piano I've ever heard. More transparent than a Steinway yet almost as warm as a Mason and Hamlin BB, which is absolutely the pinnacle of piano sound in my estimation. My top three: M&H BB, Baldwin SF-10, Petrof Storm. If I were a player, which I'm sadly not, I would aspire to own one of these. But all of this discussion concerns the uppermost 2% or so of available quality. This 2% is produced by a surprisingly large number of makers, most of whom make not very many instruments per year. The other 98%, of lesser quality, also come from a large number of makers, mostly building vast numbers of consumer-grade pianos.
