I've always seen this song from two angles, but isn't that the beauty of interpretation? (so many Sleep Token songs are that way) One is from the angle that you see it from, the manipulation in a toxic relationship. The other, a loving couple who know how to "push each other's buttons" but in a more... carnal sense. Making tension build over time, subtle jabs and hints in conversation, only understood by them.

Codependency is a good term to use involving two dysfunctional people trying to make a relationship work. Most often it doesn't, not without a LOT of therapy and counseling 😂.
