Just some cultural context on Grandma Seiko's (Momo's grandma) antics. During the "ritual" she's been quoting famous lines from a popular school drama series in Japan called "Kinpachi Sensei" (aired 8 seasons and 12 specials between 1979 and 2011). The drama showcases real life issues that come up during adolescence including bullying, drugs, family issues, etc. and Kinpachi does whatever he can to protect his students, even beating them, at times, albeit with love (the series started in the 70's during a time when beating children as punishment was socially accepted). Seiko's first swing saying "You dumb-dumb" is a line Kinpachi says to his students but the actual word that was used is a dialect from the actor's hometown of Fukuoka (they made the character's hometown match the actor's). Then Seiko proceeds to call Okarun and the Cat Turbo Granny a "rotten tangerine" which is what other teachers called one of Kinpachi's students in an iconic episode analogizing that a single rotten tangerine can ruin the entire box of tangerines (referring to the rest of the class). By the way, the paper fan that she uses is a common prop used in Japanese slapstick comedy because it makes a large noise without it being excessively painful. And it was used a LOT by, none other than, "Baka-tono" which was the TV show Seiko was watching in Ep. 3.

dang she said she dropped them like it was an accidental 2nd puberty... i liked how ayase stood up for okarun. it reminded me of love don't cost a thing when christina milian would take up for nick cannon when he was being made fun of(even though he paid her to do it, but morally her heart was in the right place when she protected him). so how am i going to say this? the jokes are funny, i have a sense of humor to a lot of stuff, but i feel like okarun's humiliation as a dude is going too far? or not that it's going too far, but it's mainly only happening to him and not ayase. i just wish that they'd be more fair with the "private" and humiliation jokes between genders. i feel like the girl issues are taken more seriously, like when ayase got abducted and the story about the missing girls and their parts, it's sad, but when his parts go missing and get cut off it's "funny" and he gets laughed at, and i just want it to be fair...but again, his situation is funny as heck. lol not just with that though, i want to see okarun be in control of a situation too, like to see more aliens show up and he has to lead ayase and her grandma because they have no idea how to handle it because it's out of their area of knowledge. just like how turbo granny controlled okarun maybe the aliens could have put a probe in ayase and use that to control her as a parallel to that.

In my opinion the Dub is the best for reacting, especially with Dan Da Dan. The english VA's are spot on 😊. Beyond that, the subs are even smaller than normal on the reactors screen. Sometimes, half of them are cut off, and sub means we can't do chores, workout, etc, and just listen. 🫤
