Just like a kinda tip here for procreate artists, for the sketch I use the ‘gel pen’ brush in the ‘inking’ section of the brushes, it is a really nice brush for, rough sketch/ clean up sketch, there is a variation in size comparing to how hard you stroke with it. So if you like this type of brush, then the gel pen brush is a good brush for that.

It's so nice to actually see someone's process in procreate. I just got an ipad and procreate feels so alien bc I'm so used to clip studio. I feel like I might have to completely change my and how I draw just for procreate. it seems like an uphill battle but this gave me some hope, thanks! EDIT: Thought I should give an update since a lot of people are resonating with this. In this last year I've made huge strides in procreate and created art that I can be proud of so it really just takes time! I believe in the rest of you making the switch, you've got this!😄

If you want to reduce the amount of zooming in and out while drawing, you can always turn on "Reference" so that a window pops up. Actions --> Canvas --> Reference --> Canvas. So whenever you zoom in a lot, you can have a window showing the full piece and you can also enlarge the piece within the reference window

it’s actually a pro technique one of my mentors taught me awhile back. start out with a super small images with super rough lines, and then keep drawing the image bigger and bigger with more and more detail w/ each sketch you do, and that’s how you can put in a lot of detail. this is something i learned on paper tho!

You navigate through Procreate so fast! I just downloaded it 2 days ago and I made a quick sketch sheet of different facial expressions, lined it nicely & then colored it in but omg it took me like 5 hours!!! Then, tonight I started on a new project of an anime character and it’s from the top of the head to about mid thigh and it took me a little less time cause I’m starting to get used to the program… but I feel like I’m making soooo many things harder on myself because I don’t know what tools I can use for convenience! Blending and understanding the different layer sheets has been my biggest issue. I feel like I’m not using all the tools to my advantage. This is my first time ever digital drawing in my life and I’m 25!!! I’ve drawn since I was 4 and I’ve mastered physical art… but digital art is now a brand new challenge for me 😩 I just really hope it gets easier with time and I’m able to save myself the struggles I’m currently going through 😭💔

For my tip it's best to find inspiration like you can try many artist art style and look all of your sketches and choose one you are comfortable with or you can maybe spice it up like something (it works for me tbh.. idk if this works for anybody else but oh well) or you can mix two different art style:)

What I would do is draw something, and find things you like about it, like the eye shapes or shading style. Then find drawings you like and also find things you like about those, like maybe the hair or lineart. Then try to draw something with the bits that you like, and make adjustments! Hope this helps :)

Thank you for this video!! I started using procreate quite a while but I always draw so slowly. After watching this video I realise I actually did not know how to use this app... I learnt so much cool features from this video and they are so useful!!
