FINALLY!! THE TYPE OF TUTORIAL I HAVE BEEN SEEKING FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS!! explaining WHAT brushes to use, what layers and when to make another layer, explaining when to use special affects on layers, the shadowing everything is amazing. Even tho its a genuine first step drawing its an amazing tutorial and i hope there will be more like that, bc i never understand what the artists do in their tutorials, they don't really explain the brushes they use etc. You did an amzing job i already feel more confident

This is gonna sound dumb but y’know when she got on to colouring, when I do it it’s like whenever I try to colour the paint doesn’t just flow like hers, like when she’s colouring the skin there’s a little bubble around the tip of her stylus. That isn’t there for mine, do you know how to get that ?

@@fjordwind yo quick question, when the lady started colouring the skin did you notice how there was a little circle by the tip of her stylus by the screen where she was colouring in. With mine, there is no circle and when I try to stride my brush it’s like the colour is weakly sticking to my stylus instead of just fully colouring the areas where my stylus reaches. I don’t think anything is necessarily wrong but I’m super new to this so I don’t know how to make the right change 😭
@fjordwindАй бұрын
@@missachin5054 did you follow along each step: drag ! not click the colour circle to your canvas and BEFORE you lift of your stylus or finger, wait a second then slide it to the right to expand the threshold. This increases the fill to to more areas. (Left side decreases the area) I could not find a setting that turns off the little circle showing up when filling correctly 🤔 Hope this helps and Btw I’m the lady in the video 😄

@ AHHHH thanks so much hahah really appreciate you spending the time to respond. Much helpful. Also I think the reason was due to the high stabilisation which I left at around 70% from the tracing 😅😭. This is such a good tutorial. I started drawing a few days on my tablet and managed to get some decent lineart done for a basic anime girl but had no idea how to start shading her. After watching this, I'm a lot more confident on how to go about it AND got the bonus knowledge of how clipping/alpha lock works and how to choose colors for shading/highlights. I also had no idea what multiply or add was. overall, this is the most helpful video I've found. thank you :D

This is a wonderful example of the younger generation teaching someone older like me something really useful. I have been painting and drawing traditionally my entire life. I was recently turned on to digital art as a way to help me speed up my design stage of my paintings and art in general. Only when I got my first drawing tablet, I knew nothing about how to use it. So Many videos on KZbin are great and mean well, only they are either too difficult or not specific to beginners. So I'd like to say thank you young lady. An expertly done lesson with very clear steps, and a realistic place to start for anyone trying art on a tablet.

As someone who can kinda draw on paper who just got a tablet. This is super helpful. I am curious do most digital artists draw like this? Before having a tablet I would play about on my PC with my mouse and I would always draw the line art then colour it in afterwards but interestingly here you do it like your painting inside the line art then fill it in. I've never done it that way and my brain wonders if that's the way to start learning lol
@fjordwind Жыл бұрын
Pretty sure a lot do ! I know what you mean with paint. But when you have lineart that has a texture like the one used in the video it won’t work like in paint (you can try to fill looks terrible on the borders). If you want it to be similar like in paint - Then you need to use a 'hard' brush like the 'studio pen'for the lineart. But this tends to looks very 'digital' if that makes sense. And is more difficult - as you have to work even more clean and have to have a very steady hand. A textured brush is less effortlessly looking good, and therefore I used it in this beginner tutorial 🤗
@keblin86 Жыл бұрын
heh thanks, I am not the best at drawing but I can do some on paper so when I came to try this I was like yeh it be much better with erasing and what not and the joys of tech! but damn was I shocked at how much I couldn't just translate my skills into digital lol. It's a whole new set of skills! the thing I am struggling with the most is getting the scale right lol. For some reason on paper I can do it but trying to draw on a screen I seem to do much bigger strokes and I am not sure why! I am having to teach myself not to and to or maybe zoom in to do that. I should probably do a sketch first and then draw other it as so far I have just been drawing freehand with no guide lol@@fjordwind
