I agree, with everything you pointed out is what i don't like about the New Kenworth 680. Paccar 🤷‍♂️ Smh Alot of Guys up N order Petes with a Weed Burners, so they can put on fake exhaust. But if you order a weed burner on the 2023's, you get the smaller passenger step which matches the driver side step. That DEF eats your exhaust, its nasty. That another reason why they go with Fake 7's or 8's Stacks, they stay shiner..

Yeah I have only seen a few with the weed burner on it like you say... to me it looks better

Looks stupid. Should have a classic wood grain dash with conventional gauges just updated look to them. Steering wheels ugly too. Should be old school wood grain with airbag and horn only. Jake brake is dumb. A switch is better and the trailer brake is dumb. I don’t like the dash and steering wheel design at all. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

@@Life-On-18-Wheels I especially appreciated the one where you pumped off at some muddy sugar cane farm. That one is universal. Every time you get the truck cleaned up you WILL have to go pump off in some mud hole. It's like some conspiracy to break your spirit. I swear it.

I’m all new to this trucking world, I love the Peterbilts. Trying my best to learn about them. My question is, are older, used Peterbilts good investments? For someone looking to buy their first Pete in the future, would buying a used one be a bad decision? I’m a car guy, all my cars are 20+ years old.. I love the simplicity of them and they just keep running, even with high miles. Does it work the same way with Petes? Of course basic maintenance and repairs considered.. is an older used Pete just a money pit? Or are they also bullet proof & hold their value.
@Life-On-18-Wheels
@Life-On-18-Wheels Жыл бұрын
Well That depends on the truck... are older trucks good investments.. I wouldn't see why not... if it was up to me I would be driving a 80s model 359 or something like that cause you ain't got all the computer stuff like nowadays... try and see if you can find a truck with a manual motor in it not electronic... manual motors are hard to find but are a whole lot easier to work on... I don't think it would be a bad decision like I said if you found the right one... hope this helps

Yeah interesting points you made I agree Pete 389 great but you have a lot of little nuances that Are agrivating that Peterbilt should & must correct those armrests that can’t be folded out of the way is a real Inconvienence And another KZbinr commented on his dislike of the switches on the dash and me I like the gauges I am a old school type driver But me if I were ordering trucks I would work out all the details first before signing the order form and fronting any money good luck stay safe & profitable in 2023 me I’m out anyway because of my Multiple Sclerosis disability I had 17 years of local trucking

They just don't build trucks like they use to anymore why because and when it comes to engines ill take Caterpillar Cummings or a Detroit diesel paccar i will not have because they don't last very long and I like the old school gages that they have inside of the truck like all old school trucks because i think that if you put an old school semi truck and put it up to a new truck and youre going to have a pulling contest old versus new the old semi truck will because of the gearing in the back of the truck theres my view old versus new trucks Mike i like all of your videos and right im trying to catch up on the ones that i haven't seen yet and I really enjoy each and every one of them as well and thats a good thing every since I was five years old we use to go to the dixie truck's stop and i use to watch semi trucks go in and out of the parking lot at the dixie and I'm a big fan of semi truck's and again thank you so very much for what you do for us and i do have alot of respect and give credit for what every truck driver does for us 👍👍👍👍

@Scully Trucking I only ask because by what peterbilt says is that any truck manufactured after July 19 of 2021 that it would be a mandatory dash... now that is straight from peterbilt.... you may have a 2022 but what is the manufactory date ... on mine it is December of year 2021... but it's a 2022 year model... hey if I am wrong I am wrong but that's what I get from what peterbilt says...

Thank you sir... yes 40 50 60 years ago we were lucky to have a sleeper at all... I watch a lot of videos on here of how trucking used to be... you would have guys making a trip from Cali to New York in a day cab single axle truck and have a blanket to lay on the catwalk at night to sleep... I would have loved to grow up in that era...

@@Life-On-18-Wheels I started driving in the late 70's with a day cab and sometimes I slept in it. Later I got a 36 and then a 42 inch sleeper and I'd be on the road with that for 2 weeks at a time, of course we didn't have all the spare time drivers have today since we ran two log books! 😂
