You say the MM300 is an ostentatious watch, McMahon, but you know deep down that it’s the watch you were yearning for. You were tired of watered down and nerfed Seiko divers that were made to feel inferior, and you wanted the full, unadulterated experience. Same goes with that Tudor Black Bay; it was a watch that was always in the Submariner’s shadow, never made to be the best it could have been. You liked the full experience of the Tuna, but you wanted an automatic, so the MM300 grants your wish. The Omega Planet Ocean and the Rolex Sea Dweller do the same thing the MM300 does. No need for an MM200 or another derivative model when you have the full monty on your wrist. This might be the time for you to ruminate over which of your other watches you would like to be the MM300’s companion. Perhaps the Daddy Willard, or maybe the Baby Willard? Or what about that Citizen solar quartz diver you bought? No pressure, McMahon, but now that you own the MM300, consolidating and synergizing your collection may the next step for you to take.

@@manuel_windeIndeed, it seems that the second hand is more fluid. But this is an illusion. Since the dial is very small and the handset is also small, the little jumps of the second hand appear less to the human eye.

@@m2pozad 9F has a service interval of 50 years... the battery, however, is easier to change because it sits outside the delicate module which is sealed. A half competent amateur can change the battery on a 9F,, but if you do this make sure you use quality tools. There are plenty of competent watch makers on line that can do a battery change and a pressure check. If you really are in the sticks then I would get a 9F... if reliability is the issue then get a digital g shock with solar...

Damnit McMahon, I've been seriously looking at the the black dial version of this watch, searching reviews, studying articles, dreaming, and obsessing. Finally I get to the point where tell myself, no, stop this journey, stop the madness and get the watch that almost fulfills the dream of a MM300; and just get the MM200. The MM200 looks similar to the MM30, has sapphire, ceramic bezel, a good movement, and is thinner and more wearable day in and day out. But NOooo. You have to come along out of left field with your fancy wordsmithing about the MM300 and bring more chaos and confusion to my already jumbled up brain. Now I have to start from scratch again, you psycho!
@JeffreyMcMahon3 жыл бұрын
The variety of MM200s are more affordable, easier to wear every day, and less stressful to deal with overall, but the MM300 is more dramatic on the wrist and has a more accurate movement. All we can do is weigh the pros and cons, but I agree no watch decision is ever easy.

For god’s sake don’t compare a measly watch to car this is stupid as it gets, watch is just a damn accessory being high end or seiko 5. Seiko below 1k are work horses for sure but once you get to high end seiko there is no denying their quality is better than similarly priced Swiss by a mile. Main seiko gripe is bracelet and thickness but an SLA039 which I own is a beauty, now if you don’t experience that don’t judge others by your old bland archaic opinions. My high end seikos and moderately priced grand seikos are hand made real in house movements and zuratsu polishing now take this to the bank and please moot it with Swiss crap, it’s getting old.

True, but with a hand assembled Grand Seiko movement and a monocoque case. This Seiko much finer than any Rolex, which are made by robots. I know because I owned a Rolex Sea Dweller for years. Overall case and dial hands, finishing much much better than the brands you mentioned, IMO.
