This was the best performance ever! He used his platform to reach out to everyone, including Biden. He should have won, but he did win...getting his word out was worth any award he could have gotten. Almost 2 years after this song came out...and I still get tears in my eyes and anger in my soul when I hear this song. This should be "Song of the Year". But this song is far more important than that. This is the spark that lights the fire in the hearts of all of our 'accomplices'. All of my brothers and sisters out there deserve the same Freedom - the same peace of mind - the same assurance - the same calm nerves when lights roll up behind you...the same privilege that so many like to pretend doesn't exist. It starts at home, standing up to racism -- even if it's family. Every time you see it and every time you hear it!!!

We she said, “We don’t need allies, we need accomplices!” It gave me chills! During the rise of the BLM movement, white people have wondered and even asked how we can support them. It’s not protesting and marching, it’s more than that. Speak up when you hear racial slurs and violence towards this. Not condoning racist behavior and many other things. We are not expected to understand what we have not experienced, but we can speak up when we hear or see something. She was right when she said they don’t need allies, they need us with them because we are stronger together. It is so much bigger than black or white and America is not ready for us to unify. If you say all lives matter, then you are missing the entire purpose of what BLM is trying to accomplish. It’s stupid really, of course all lives should matter, but the sad reality is they don’t in others eyes...especially some of law enforcement. Blue lives matter too and that is dumb to say. Of course we need the police, but we don’t need racial profiling and the killing of innocent black men! We need to have better psychological testing on recruits and reform the way the police use force. They need special training for their fire arms. There shouldn’t be a cop out there that would mistake their gun for their tazor. Sorry for the long post, his performance moved me and I felt like I needed to post what I have learned when I asked how I could help. #justice #blm #dobetter
