Lil Bibby on Signing Juice Wrld, Cries Over Juice Dying, Quitting Rap (Flashback)

In 2021, Lil Bibby shared his story from the beginning, growing up in Chicago and seeing his peers getting attention in the rap world. Seeing them get some success, Bibby decided to start rapping, but he admits that he was never chasing fame. Lil Bibby went on to speak about signing Juice Wrld after his brother showed Bibby his music, and he knew the late artist would be huge after hearing "Lucid Dreams." Bibby detailed his relationship with Juice Wrld, which he said was often complicated by Juice Wrld's substance abuse, and Bibby explained how he tried to get him to go to rehab and get clean. Bibby then got emotional while speaking about Juice Wrld's death and going to his funeral, which was the first time he had been to a funeral in years, despite losing a lot of friends. Later in the interview, Lil Bibby revealed his status in rap.

Discussing addiction disorders with people who don't understand why someone just can't quit or give it up- not for their fame or fortune or a successful career, not even for their kids, or to save their marriage or for the love of their own family... That is what unlocks the difference in those who can or cannot quit destructive or impulsive behavior issues. Coping skills are taught very early on in early childhood, a child in the most destructive environment if they're taught coping mechanisms that are healthy must begin during the ages between 3 and 9, data proves they're able to freely walk into adulthood without needing to turn to anything unhealthy to cope with life or our past trauma. Unprocessed Early childhood trauma has to happen, there's no exceptions, does matter who you are, what matters is when you are taught how to cope with the traumas in healthy ways.
