The thing with torture for eternity, is that that eternity itself is part of it. If you've binged Friends a few times then clearly it's something dear to you. I mean, that's three days of straight watching, that's an investment. Keeping it on reruns? Oh, that's the water drop torture. Twice a week, it repeats. Over and over. Oh the first time, it's fine. Enjoyable, even. The second, or third perhaps. What about the fourth? When does it become mildly annoying? What about when every word becomes predictable, down to the last second? What about when you want to sleep, or think of something else, only for the endless inane chatter and cheery music every twenty minutes? An endless loop you cannot escape, wrought in the skin of what once you loved? I would think that counts as torture, yes.

I would torture someone by like letting them binge season 2 of Fallout before it's even out on Earth, for example. Episode 1, 2, and 3 are awesome and they really enjoy it. Out of nowhere, boom! Episode 4 and 3 are flipped out of order and they don't realize till watching the entirety of episode 4. To make it worse, I'll let them enjoy episode 5, 6, and 7, but 8 is gonna be nothing but buffering followed by a bunch of skips spoiling the finale.

Idk. Experiencing nonstop mild annoyances would eventually become torture. I feel like people would eventually get higher pain tolerance, but annoyance doesn’t always work that way. So just… slowly add more and more annoyances until it literally drives them insane. Or giving one day where things seem better and then immediately dashing all hopes would also be torture.
