@@Mare_Man dunno about gameplay, because you're probably comparing it to 4 and 76, but definitely better worldbuilding. Also, the NV team was far more limited in time, and they basically had to develop something with what Bethesda used to make Fallout 3, so you can't really fault them on the gameplay aspect, especially when they were far better when balancing out the RPG mechanics.

Funnily enough, Fallout 76, starting circa 2020-2021, is in a actually reasonably playable state, and is not starved for content anymore. Make no mistake, Fallout 76's "redemption" still pales in comparison to No Man's Sky's. It is still quite glitchy. But it is playable and there is now an actual, potentially fun gameplay loop now. Bethesda has only gotten away with it for so long cause the games they released were always highly moddable so any bugs and such where usually patched out by the players themselves so Bethesda never had to lift a finger except maybe for the occassional patch they would make themselves. However since Fallout 76 is always online, means no mods allowed which ergo meant that the shitty quality their games are generally known for was shown for all to see since they didn't have modders to cover up their mistakes. Though as you have seen it's not just the game that ended up giving them a bad rap and eventually saw them bought out by Microsoft.

Fallout 76 can be summed up as Bethesda’s mishandling of the Fallout IP coming back to bite them. There’s a lot of tomfoolery from even BEFORE the game from not caring about the lore to “the fans will fix the bugs.” It’s a rabbit hole in and of itself. Though one thing he left out was that players used a certain exploit used in taking items from NPC corpses and used it on actual players. I knew that Todd was complete BS. I knew it was just Fallout 4 but online. What I didn’t know is that the bugs that were carried from Fallout 4 were worse, and even more nightmarish bugs plagued me. After numerous crashes i decided to quit. I heard that they finally added in interactive NPCs, but it’s too little too late with me. I still think you should try Fallout 4 or at least New Vegas though, Lila. New Vegas’ DLC content is phenomenal.
