exactly. I mean, a couple decades ago 'big butts were disgusting.' 'Now, if you don't have a butt, you are disgusting.' That's just looking at a logical standpoint but who's to say stretch marks, cellulite, stomachs, etc are ugly? We have those insecurities b/c we are told to have them. Sad. Emily Hernandez if the writing was really that bad no one would watch. Lili is amazing on Riverdale so saying she shouldn’t be remembered for it is just rude. No show has perfect writing so to say that this show is bad for her to be recognized for is rude af. A J no number can define you, what makes people beautiful is their personality, vibe, way of handling stuff and so much more. Have a good hart is so much better than having the perfect weight. As long as you feel comfortable, healthy, happy ect in you’re own skin. that’s what really matters. I look at people all day and to be honest I haven’t seen a ugly person, not by their weight or looks ect. but I felt like I looked bad, fat and I felt ugly compared to other people. (Also because I have a big back injury, it’s going on for around 1 year now. And I can’t even run so I had to stop exercising (horse riding, free running and running)) Then I realized that if everybody I see looks good in their own special way, I probably don’t look that bad. And remember, when you look at people you see all the good flaws but when you look at yourself you barely find a good flaw. Well you got plenty of beautiful flaws but you’re so used to your own features that you don’t see that in the eyes of someone else they are beautiful!! And I don’t know what you look like, but I do know that you’re pretty and wanted in this world. And no weight number can chance that. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND GOOD LOOKING!! NO MATTER THE WEIGHT.❤️

I wish I could go back in time and show my thirteen year old self this speech. She was a girl who didn’t attend a pool party because she was to self-conscious to be in a swimsuit around her classmates. She was a girl who cried in the back of the ballet studio changing room because her instructor advised getting a costume two sizes up. She was a girl who dangerously experimented with eating-disorder tendencies such as fasting/purging because she read that her favorite celebrity did it to lose weight. Thankfully, I’m not that girl anymore. Ten years later, I’m a twenty-three year old that treats herself a lot more kindly than she use to. The road to body-positivity has been a struggle and I’m still on that path. Like Lili said, some days are harder than others. To this day I still look in the mirror at my big hips and thighs and I turn into that thirteen year old girl again. But Lili is absolutely right. There are so many body shapes in the world and they should all be embraced and celebrated. No more body shaming, and that starts with ourselves and then we encourage each other. I love when Lili said “embracing your natural beauty does not exclude anyone. You can be naturally beautiful with acne or scars, cellulite or curves. So let’s celebrate each other, and ourselves, as we are, as we will be, and as we were meant to be.” Can I get an amen? I’m so thankful and incredibly happy that the younger generation has someone as bright, honest, and positive as Lili to look up to. Thank you, Lili. Thank you!

This is why I deactivated my instagram a few weeks ago and I already feel so much better. It almost drove me into depression and it's so hard to realize since all the memes and quotes make you feel like insta is a relatable place that comforts you. UNTIL you think about why you even feel that certain way. You don't need social medias comfort when you don't put yourself through its toxic traits in the first place. Also your wasting so much time watching others live your dreams instead of working on yourself. Not saying you'll have a perfect life without social media. But a much more focused and real one for sure.

these things really put what i see about my own body into perspective. i look at lili’s body and think maybe I should lose weight so i can look like her, i think she is one of the most gorgeous women ever. while watching this video i went to look up her measurements because she said something about being average when I thought she was skinny, and turns out my measurements are smaller than hers. it really shows how distorted we see our own bodies and how warped that reflection that we “see” actually is

I was / am very insecure about my body because I wasn’t the “ideal” shape and my face wasn’t “perfect”. I constantly judged myself against other people. I belittled my self, catcalling myself constantly. I took a lot of time and effort to realize that my relationship with my body was beyond toxic, that it had affected my self esteem and confidence. I feared that people would leave me because I was “ugly”. I couldn’t be truly open with other people when all I was thinking about was my acne showing and if I looked presentable. I am still on my journey to acceptance of my appearance, I say that I have a way healthier relationship with my appearance, but there’s still room for improvement. I want to thank Lili Reinheart for speaking about physical insecurities and opening about her vulnerabilities. She took one step help us to accept ourselves and be happy with our appearance and is continuing her journey to promote inclusive standards in the mass media. Thank You Lili❤️✨

On TED talks, the speaker talks personally about an event they had to go through that no one else could imagine. Like I watched one on a girl who escaped North Korea successfully. Lili does talk about herself but she is also speaking for many other people with insecurities. How many people do you know have escaped North Korea? I assume less than 10, because it really is not that common.

It's so amazing how she uses her power to influence young girls in a positive way I can say soo much about this but then it would literally turn into an essay all i have to say is that Lili Reinhart is an amazing human being and there needs to be more ppl out there like her, cause some girls put each other down instead of making each other feel confident To anyone who reads this - Give someone who you don't usually compliment a nice comment - For those girls who bully other people, Dont, you will regret it in the future and see how stupid you were for thinking it was cool to do that. and you can actually make someone have mental issues or anxiety problems by doing that and even suicidal thoughts by something that you didn't even think would affect them that much you don't know a person's personal problems and the person that they could be when they feel more confident to be themselves this is why you should make them feel more confident instead of putting them down and you don't need to make fun of them to look good in front of your friends or to make you feel better about yourself, you don't need that and they definitely don't need it either, would you wan't anyone doing the same to you? no.so put yourselves in their shoes . We the younger generation can change the world by doing something small like that P.S Sorry bout the essay y'all

Lili is so easy to love and admire. I really respect her and look up to her. This speech is so important because there is a huge amount of women and young girls out there that believe they are not good enough, they believe that they need to look a certain way to be accepted which is so not true. This is so captivating! I’m so glad more people in the industry are coming out and expressing how toxic some of the standards are we have to conform to! It’s so vital for young women to hear these things when they are constantly surrounded by a world that refuses to accept them for who they are naturally. I’m so proud of Lili for standing up and sharing her experience!

As a normal-human-sized dancer, I can relate. It’s really hard to be around a bunch of skinny people calling themselves ‘overweight’. It’s tough on my self esteem. But this helped. Usually I watch videos like this and it just makes me more conscious of my body but looking at someone that I admire talking about something close to my heart really made all the difference. Although it’ll still be rough, I know it’s better to love yourself because you only live once. Whoever is reading this, watch the whole video and smile because you’re beautiful inside and out.❤️
