まさしくまさしく。 それが日本の漫画アニメ文化の底知れなさ、 Obvious and paramount strong point. 虐待されて育てられたら、 理解しようと手を差し伸べ愛してくれる家族がいても、 裕福で、費用を惜しまず手を打てたとしても、 救われる道はほとんどないのだということを それこそ残酷なほど 赤裸々に表現したのが 萩尾望都「残酷な神が支配する」。 ディクロニウス以上のファンタジー、 日本男性と言うか、人類男性が決してやらない、 愛する家族を奪った相手に大好きだと打ち明ける勇気あるコウタ （敬愛する従弟の一人と同名だよ。どうしてくれる） 「悪いのは全て私だ」と 言葉に出して娘にはっきり謝罪する蔵馬、 ファンタジーというか、近未来社会SFチックな日本人男性二人の存在によって救済の道を示したのがこの作品。 思うに、小説という表現形式は三島由紀夫によって集大成され終わり、 今の作家と称する人たちは文壇とかいうゲットーに閉じ籠って現代日本社会が抱える問題と正面から向き合おうとしないので、 大抵の場合作家より賢くて教養もある編集者と二人三脚で作り上げられるマンガが その役割を果たしているのではないかと。

For those who don't understand, the song is written in latin and it has 2 parts. 1st part is in reference to Lord Jesus Himself. The phrase "Beatus vir, qui suffert tentationem: quoniam cum probatus fuerit, accipiet coronam vitae" (Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life) James 1:12 directly refers to Jesus. The 2nd part refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The phrase "O quam sancta quam benigna quam amoena O castitatis lilium" is taken from a Gregorian chant titled "Ave Mundi Spes Maria" The opening part is a praise to the Mighty Creator taken from Psalm 36:30

しかも、宗教画っぽいやつを選んで。 嬉しいですよね！！ 考えてみればエルフェンリートって人類女性、 特に現代を生きる日本人女性にとっての受難劇。 登場する女性たちは一人残らず「ヨナ」。 マユの母親だって。 （※ 以下原作ネタバレ胸糞注意） コロナで中高生の妊娠が増えたのは実は家庭内暴力だろうという観測が 日本人全部の肝を冷やしていますけど。 一応娯楽作品だからステップファザーだけどあれ実父でしょっちゅうあることなんですよね。 あらゆる犯罪の中で一番を表に出にくい犯罪だけれど 主に女性を診察している精神科の女医さんはそれで病んじゃう人が多いって聞いたことがある。 知人も、せっかく横浜翠嵐出て島根医大でお医者さんになったのにそれで廃業して今は東京都の課長さん。 ルーシーはコウタと 完全な愛で結ばれた。 （私にはあんな時あんな風に話せる男性の存在なんてディクロニウス以上のフィクションに見えますが。 蔵間も。 リアルの男性は「悪いのは全て私だ」なんて死んでも口にしませんよ。w） 美しい美しい本当に美しい音楽なので、 つらいこと悲しいことを振り返って涙で洗い流して、新しい一歩を踏み出せる。 もうこれは人類遺産、文化遺産、レジェンドにしてレガシー。 はい、出会えた幸運に酔ってます。

I had a dream of four children, two darkness, two light, and they sung this while we walked on a city filled with ruins and distorted buildings... Slowly the world of ruins turned pitch black, then the children disappeared. The only thing I saw was countless of eyes on the pitch black sky. They gazed at me as if they were looking at a great sinner. I continued to walk on despite being scorned and felt the coldness of nothingness yet still walked and carried on until the very end. Just my personal dream.

"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life [...]" St. James 1:12 I don't know what they mean by "the crown of life" tho. But I felt your dream resonates with that line. As "those that endureth temptation" are indeed sinners by nature in the first place. In that sense getting the crown of life means fighting against your own body. There's the other condition about loving God if you believe in that, but loving God won't make you less of a sinner as sinners are the only ones allowed to be forgiven in the love of God

Right at 2:38, it's like hearing Angels sing! Wonderful performance and arrangement. The other thing I love is seeing the personalities in the singers, they all are very dedicated to perfection, but the level of emotion is very much indicated, I reckon the conductor wanted everyone to really "let it rip".

For some reason, this was in my recommended again. I've listened to this performance countless times before...but I still can't take the wide-eyed lady seriously😂 Best version after the original though. I know Lilium was sung by a lot of choirs, but this particular choir's performance and the original(Kumiko Noma) just hits different.
