Nice one, thanks! This is known as "Momotaro". 🍑😁 This is from Legend-MM 21 Night held on March 3rd 2024 at the Yokohama Arena. And it was Momometal's 21st birthday. This and the previous day show (20 Night) were held in her honor, obviously. This is a proper video but misses the whole intro with the lore in the form of a kamishibai ("paper play" = animated storytelling) and Momoko's spectacular stage entrance. Lore was particularly interesting here since that same day was "hinamatsuri" (Doll's or Girl's day) which is a religious (Shinto) holiday, they mixed that with "Momotaro" ("Peach boy") which is a popular hero of the Japanese Folklore well known for being born from a peach. So, all this ended with Momoko (note that "Peach" was one of her nicknames from the Sakura Gakuin era) leading "Meta Taro" (which is meant to be everyone's hero). 🤘🦊

You are so correct. Everything about Babymetal is just perfect. There is no detail to a perfromance too small to overlook. Enjoying your enthusiastic embrace of Babymetal. Good job.

Kids love heroes. BabyMetal wanted to make a metal song for kids. So they created Meta Taro. Various heroes that kids love can be found in the lyrics and choreography. Thanks for your great reaction.

Absolutely brilliant - and something I've been waiting for for a long time - more of a balance of voices since yui left. Hopefully not too much track for momo - but still awesome. Good reaction to another song I've not heard in a while from them.

👍 👍 This song is an ode to two things that are very much a part of modern Japanese culture. Baseball and anime (in this case LIVE action anime). The Japanese love of baseball is well documented and the chants in this song are reminiscent of the actual chants from the crowds you might hear at a baseball game in Japan. You actually hear the phrase "Meta Taro hit it away!" and in some of their earlier performances Suzuka would mimic swinging a baseball bat when that phrase was uttered in the harsh vocals backing track (now actually shouted by Momoko). The lyrics and theme of the song is an ode to a very popular TV show from the 70's (also shown here in the U.S.) ULTRA MAN (Meta Taro - Metal Man)

Meta Taro is Ultra Man?! I used to love that show as a kid. That is so cool to find out. Thanks for that background.

Nice! I will say, Meta Taro was probably one of the only few songs by Babymetal that I didn’t care for. However, Momometal absolutely crushes it, and makes this 10x better! 🤘🦊

⚡ 🍑 💕 / 🤖 🥁 This one was a big surprise. We were expecting Momoko to take the lead on 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' the first night of LEGEND MM, and she did. Some folks thought they would repeat that on the second night, but we got this great performnce instead. : )
