I about 7 or 8 years ago at a job fair, the Canadian Armed Forces were looking for people to join the military. I was seriously considering joining the Canadian Armed Forces because I knew there was a need for welders in the military. Looking back now and watching this story, I believe that I dodge a bullet.

As someone from the same branch that "welders" are in, I can say you made the right choice. Plus, being a welder is only part of the job. The trade is Mat Tech. You also have to learn to sew, theres machining and body work. A general day will usually be filled by either making new picture frames for the chain of command, or performing general duties like "move that shelf again," or "clean up and organise that corner again." With the addition of all the identity politics, the powers that be, have seen fit to strip us of any "soldiering" identities because its toxic and replace it with blue haired, bilingual, career students that don't know how to dress themselves. Its not a good place to be right now.

At around that same time frame, I was jumping through all kinds of hoops to get in the CF, including getting a degree because they told me to. Then they just treated me like garbage in the recruitment office, basically threw my university transcripts in the garbage right in front of me while demanding highschool transcripts, then a female captain spent an hour screaming at me like a lunatic during the "job interview", claiming that there was no place for me. I just walked out after suffering through her insufferable tantrum. They were so desperate to fill the role that I kept applying for that they were even begging for applicants on Craigslist, no word of a lie. But I knew they were following some kind of agenda, people called me crazy at the time, and it turned out exactly as I described it.

You would have been trapped in the rank/pay system which more often than not is about seniority rather than skills. You make $160/day as a 3 yr Pte which if you’re lucky is only 8hrs of mostly make work projects and if unlucky is 18hrs/day in a tent in wainwright for 2 weeks keeping generators fueled. You need 2 years in and the trade course assuming you get a spot, to get the good pay starting at Cpl.

As a former CF member, I'm ashamed of what our military has become. China and Russia are busy building militaries with fighting men, and we are too busy trying to figure out if men menstruate and chastising and destroying the very pillars of what our military was founded on. We, as a country, have a military history that is steeped in tradition, and service to this country. To kill all that in the name of "equality and inclusivity" is f'n stupid.

Yo, I view the changes you listed as a decline in the stature of the Canadian Armed Forces. The military was predicated on discipline, structure, uniformity and the government has chosen to placate people with woke ideology. I didn't object to beards but opening up the flood gates to intermixing uniforms, hairstyle and colour, facial tattoos, non-custom jewellery, conduct allowances etc has gone way too far. And what do you mean about having ones feelings validated? Receiving respect and fair treatment is one thing but catering to everyones feelings and sensitivities...please. In this increasingly hostile world, we need a strong reliable national defence and everything from equipment, manpower and the military ethos has deteriorated and it is both shameful and infuriating. It's a laughing stock and a suck ass organization now and I'm glad I'm no longer affiliated with it. Are you serving in the clown show?

I am the son of a man who was over 40 years in the Canadian Military. I’m glad he isn’t here to see this sad state of affairs. If we keep going down these horrible roads of identity politics (woke) we, as a Military, Country and society will fail. Like all others who have done this in the past. We desperately need these Liberals out and then we need to clear out the top levels of the current Military. They are putting their careers ahead of the institution. Imagine if a soldier put him/her self before the Country?

After 8 years of the Liberals and Trudeau: 1) we have RECORD numbers of people employed, 2) we have had RECORD highs on the stock markets 3) we have near RECORD low unemployment. 4) we have THE 2ND HIGHEST standard of living in the world 5) we have 28th from the highest in tax rates in the world. 6) we have the 2nd lowest inflation rate in the G7. The main thing that is changed is people selling their homes are making a huge amount of money, and a whole bunch of Canadians have become whining babies.

Because it the UN/ WEF sustainable development agenda to dismantle our nations for the globalist one world government agenda to then usher in the UN soldiers to be the global military arm. C-15. This has been a controlled demolition of all our nations. Pushing us towards a sovereign debt crisis which then allows them to confiscate our property and land legally. Replace it with a CBDC global currency, ushering in a health pass (WHO pandemic Treaty), which links to the ESG solution credits systems because of “climate change”. This is all about controlling the populations and wealth redistribution. “You will own nothing and be happy”.

I was at the Cenotaph on November 11 to honour all our military. Being right near a military base here in Comox what I saw shocked me. While most of the military personnel attending looked very military there was at least one guy in uniform that took me by surprise. His hair was hanging down over his collar which used to be a no no. And it made me think what the hell is going on with our military that this kind of thing is allowed now. Then I was watching a Snowbirds video and saw the same thing with at least one of their support personnel. So it appears that the standards in our military are falling about the same speed as snowflakes in a Canadian winter. Pathetic.

Lifelong dream gone. Be a “peacekeeper” in a neutered army for minimum wage? Fuck that!! What is a “peacekeeper”? A cross between a cop and a Boy Scout? Spent a couple years in the armed forces back in the day, I (personally) was trained on "every" weapon the army had at the time (even the APC), great experienced trainers as well, we had a lot of respect from other country's, they even came over to train and learn from us, now it's snow flakes with Pea Shooters and Sling Shots., no thanks.

Why do we allow Trudeau to continue to make fools of us?
@richardshort3914
@richardshort3914 8 ай бұрын
I have pondered this from the beginning and am of the opinion that: 1. The traditional rivals of the Liberals (the Conservatives) ran very weak (I am being polite here) candidates. During the elections Conservative polices became indistinguishable from those of Mr Trudeau, This did not provide a clear alternative, resulting in a "better the devil you know" ballot decision. 2. As a Prime Minister, the Liberal Party itself could replace him without triggering an election. (For example, since Boris Johnson was elected Prime Minister in 2019, the UK has had both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak assume the role without resort to the polls.) Therefore, I feel the reason Mr Trudeau has not been replaced by his own party is a general lack of courage and integrity of Liberal MPs and an overwhelming desire to retain personal power, regardless the harm he does to the nation. So: 1. Lack of a competent, distinct alternative on the part of the Conservatives (who, incidentally, thwarted their best challenger, Maxime Bernier's bid for leadership by underhanded means); and 2. A Liberal Party overwhelmingly comprised of spineless, self-serving sycophants. Ultimately, though, we have allowed this to happen and have no one to blame but ourselves.

The Armed Forces are there to protect Canadians and our interests from those in the world who would do us harm. Members need to be physically capable to defend themselves and others as well as be able to maintain themselves and survive austere environments and the violence of combat. In short worrying about patriarchy and social justice will not prepare them for what they may be called upon to do for us so we don’t have to.

I served proudly with a variety of other volunteers, we all sweated, sometimes bleed and sucked up the pain in a variety of training exercises and courses, we all had each others backs as we walked through hostile landscapes together, we all laughed and shared a cold one when we could, and shared a tear and head hung moment when thinking of brothers and sisters gone before us; It was my honour and privilege to serve with them regardless of age, colour, religion, background; it just didn't matter, and we stood together for our country and freedom; I cannot see that reflected in todays army...Pro Patria! When I was a kid I wanted to join the Air Force. I was a proud patriotic young Canadian. I decided not to, after I found out how little flying I would do and how much desk time I would have. Not to mention the Sea Kings were falling out of the sky, our demonstration team had been grounded because we are still using clapped out jets from the. 60 's and there was no support. So, I became a pilot in the public sector. I live with some regret. But, it's also due in part to our govt. There just isn't a career there for a young person who wants to fly.

I am a Canadian female. I was "labeled female over 60 years ago based on my anatomy. I am still a Canadian female all these years later. Not once were there ever government issue tampons supplied in any public washrooms I ever used. I recall a few public restooms having a vending machine type thing that might dispense a tampon for a dime or quarter or two. How absolutely foolish is it that I as a senior should have to contribute tax dollars to supply tax funds for tampons on a mens bathroom? Healthcare is in a pathetic state in Canada, housing, millions are overdosing and litterally dying due to pharmacuetical medications..... not a wonder some folks are so confused they can not decide which gender requires use of a "free" tampon! If a gender confused individual discovers a need for a tampon let him purchase and supply his own! Just like us all us girls have done for hundreds of years.
