I moved to Canada in late 2018 from Australia with my Canadian wife and child. I had a beach house and a good job. Now, we both work to afford a rental apartment. Crime is up, inflation is up and tax is up, freedom is down, and services are down. You tell me how I should feel. Canada feels more like a crime candidate extortion racket than a free country. The banks didn’t lose a nickel during COVID. They cheerfully foreclosed on mortgages, pushed businesses into bankruptcy, seized bank accounts from protestors, and paid their executives big bonuses. Credit card rates went up, interest payments went down, and fees skyrocketed. That’s the Canadian banking tradition.

Yes, like the banker that tried to talk me into a three yr mortgage instead of a five yr fixed mortgage in 2020. I thought the 1/4% difference wasn't worth it. So, I sat at 2 3/4 % , put some RIFF payments on it and it is finished completely Oct 1 2020. If I had unwisely listened to that banker, I would have been renewing earlier. I am not young and still have a couple of very sm fixed term lines of credit from renos. It has been a struggle being retired and groceries basically doubled in the last few years. That mortgage payment will have to be saved for a new roof and furnace. I worked and saved to be able to travel. Besides the groceries, utilities and everything being up, it doesn't even feel safe to travel to the communities that I used to visit due to the level of crime and drug issues which I can no longer do. That is Justin 's legacy- absolutely nothing to be proud of !! I wish that someone had the power to drain him of all the wealth he has questionably accumulated in the last nine years.

First of all - I have never, and will never, vote Liberal. Having said that, I'm conflicted about Mark Carney. I thought he did a great job for Canada (helping Harper as Governor of the Bank of Canada) back in 2008 during the financial meltdown when other countries fared worse than us. I think Carney deserves credit for that. But now he's gone in a different direction?? Dunno how I feel about that or if I even really understand what he would be doing.
