No but Jumba/Pleakely is actually legit canon in the next movie after this and also in the tv show. But you should watch the tv show if you plan to watch the Leroy and Stitch movie. The tv show provides a lot of needed context for the Leroy and Sitch movie.

This is one of the strongest direct to dvd Disney sequels. I like how the story focuses on the background and development of Stitch but also adding more to Lilo’s character with the knowledge of her mother. The emotional moments hit the notes, especially at the end, I still cry at it some.

Fun Fact: Stitch coming back is a alt ending they had to make because he did, in fact, stay dead. But it was so sad, it made all the kids in the test audience cry their souls out, so they had to change it.

What a great sequel this is! Getting more in depth with our title characters and the struggles they go throughout the film is the kind of premise that makes this film shine. And the emotional aspect of the writing, music, and acting really seals the deal, especially with the ending. Top tier Disney sequel, ngl!

This movie got some funny and dark moments I look back at. Seeing Stitch nearly died was the most saddest part I've cried. Everybody hates Myrtle because she's so mean and cruel to Lilo. Ohana holds us together and can never separated from each other 😱😱😱💖💖💖🤣🤣🤣

This movie definitely got to me in both Laughter & Saddness - In the DVD there is a short called “The Origin of Stitch” which shows Stitch discovering that their are other experiments making a connection with “Stitch The Movie” - The movie that the ohana was watching is the 1954 movie called “Them!” - Notice Pleakley in the movie was wearing a Tigger (from Winnie the Pooh) slipper on one of his feet

27:18 Kauai, the island these movies are based on has 1 major road that travels 70% of the rim of the island. Some small roads going in, but the main one on the rim is how you travel a distance. A month visiting family, a bridge on the north point flooded twice allowing only lifted vehicles to pass, and was blocked by a land slide. A year earlier, a couple who had just married going to the airport was taken out on a road similar to this in the movie at the 2o'clock position of the island. That's volcano island life: landslides, floods, tsunamis and volcanos. My month there, there were 2 floods, a land slide a tsunami warning, but I'm sure that volcano's cooking up something... 😅

When I first watched this movie, it was around the time that I had watched The Iron Giant and I thought this movie took place after the tv series(it takes place before). So I legitimately thought stitch was going to die and that's how they were ending the franchise. I was like 8 to be fair. But I was genuinely starting to process the greif of "losing Stitch" and "mourning" his death, during that scene. I actually had a hard time enjoying the fact that he survived. Like I was happy that he was alive, but I had just started to process the greif of him dying and had, for the most part, accepted his death(very quickly).
