The raised-ranch houses they showed are split-foyers, and yes they are affordable low-material homes. The were designed for a guy who's 19 just married with a kid on the way. You'd buy them, and have your first 1 or 2 kids in a two-story home with a yard. But today they are your typical home, and they've gone up in price. My friend just paid $430k for one that's had a lot of internal changes to it, and I think he over payed. He makes bank as an electrical engineer, and he wanted to live in this neighborhood. But saying people need beautiful houses is a luxury thing to say. House is a must-have resource, and utility. Keeps you warm, fed, and clean is it's most important feature, not the aesthetics. The houses Nick is talking about building are going to be expensive unless the lot is small/bad location. In my state houses are usually built 100 at a time unless it's a sub-division. Developers are getting the material price down because they're ordering so much of it. More you build the cheaper the cost. Two houses is basically going to be rennovation rates. If you build any home in all brick at this point you're looking at close to half a million. There are $600k houses in developments near me built 20 years ago, and they're partial brick, with at a few facings of vinyl siding, large windows, garage, and small lots not tiny. But he's talking about artisan detail work, and that's always going to jack price up. I've done carpentry, electrical, and framing on many additions and remodels. I've worked on a few new builds. Renovating a kitchen on a typical house will cost you between $25 to $60 grand. A bathroom can cost 30k lol.

Nearly 95% of AAA games are lacking this and are just recycling material which means they fall off after a few months even though they are live service. I bought that design book that Sam reccomended and have a nice desk and chair on its way for a workstation for my 3d tablet. I WFH full time and I have an idea for an online game I want to make, I already made a working demo but I need to create the 3d models for the aliens, animate them, texture them and do all of that. I havent drawn since 8th grade but I developed a good discipline in my 20s so 12 hours a day working is something I'm capable of. I want to spend the next 10+ years putting this together because nobody else is going to do it. We have to bring art and culture back into the world ourselves if we want to see it. I never see good games and art styles like Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, OG Starcraft, OG Diablo, or Halo like were coming out when I was a kid. I really enjoy hearing your perspectives and Nicks idea about the house sounds great. If you're willing to put the time in you can do anything sounds corny but its true. I got my idea from a warcraft 3 custom game I love to play to this day, bringing it to a 3rd person battleground will be a lot of work but I think it has the potential to be a banger.
