I never really got like deep into Sims. I enjoyed playing it though, but I didn't bother to really decorate and such. I'd just have like "EA restriction" style of places really.. where it's just essentials. My bf though, he just.. he makes up entire backstories for his Sims, becomes extremely attached to them, etc. Like he's had sims he got so attached to that when they died he literally cried and will still get emotional to this day when he thinks about them. It's interesting to me how immersed and attached he gets. It can be a problem though.. like he legitimately gets terrified to play through with a family because his sims will eventually die. So about 80% of the time he spends playing is him restarting and restarting...

@@mizzwright3976 Yeah one sim in particular was exactly that. He started out with her as a young adult and she grew up to have twins (one of which oddly enough looked almost exactly like my boyfriend through random generation). Eventually the kids grew up and the mom got old and died.. he was devastated for like a week. He'll occasionally still remember her and want to remake her, but also feels weird remaking her lol. He'll actually talk about his sims like they're real because of how connected he gets to them. The same happens with games like Animal Crossing. He'll talk about the animals on there as if they're real friends.

@@thesleepydot most of the older apartments I've seen in Switzerland have hallways. Might be because its easier to heat? @Victoria B Orrrr maybe she doesn’t know? I’ve got a master’s degree and didn’t know that is how it’s pronounced. It was just never necessary to know or part of my studies. You’re super rude. Europeans pronounce Native American words and American towns and names incorrectly constantly and it just is what it is, there’s no need to be inflammatory. Like the UK pronunciation of the Spanish language is awful but I also understand accents cause variations and also if you learn it wrong, you say it wrong, and it can’t always be helped. It’s not intentional. It’s not about not trying. Human instinct is to say things the way that would sound correct in your own dialect based on your understanding of how letters and letter combinations sound in your language (see Van Gogh) and it’s not malicious in intent or because people don’t care. You’re such a snob.

As much as I love the outcome and your build style I think with this build, it feels like you americanize (is that even a word?) too much. Floors are such a big thing in Europe. I live in Germany and I legit feel the vibe of the house and I think it is one of the better EA builds. And to the point when you said you would get rid of some walls when you have the money to modernize a kitchen like that, is probably not possible. You have to consider valves and wires and I do believe European walls are often more solid or of better quality than american walls (wow this sounds weird) and so it is often far more expensive than you probably think to tear down a wall. It's just a thought and I felt like sharing this one. Love the build anyways ♥️

I agree. Here in the UK it is quite common to extend the house by building one extra room on the ground floor, and not change the rest of the house at all. Most people would rather spend the money they have on having the new kitchen be built to a good standard rather than tearing down walls in the rest of the house. I think having a modern kitchen extension while the rest of the house looks older is realistic.

sometimes EA builds are so bad it feels intentional. can you imagine getting paid to build that and putting so little effort into it..wild
@Te3time
@Te3time 4 жыл бұрын
Well how much do they actually get paid to do the builds? I can totally see EA giving one person like half a day to fill all the lots of a new pack right before release. It's not like they have an employee who's only job is building
@spacepirating
@spacepirating 4 жыл бұрын
Te3time you’re right, I doubt they have anyone whose specific job it is to do building and I wouldn’t be surprised if the person/people responsible for building the lots were under an extreme time crunch. Even if that’s the case, however, it doesn’t seem excusable to charge people $40 for a pack that includes such bad builds, whether that’s due to EA not giving employees enough time to do better or the employees themselves not putting in effort.

Most standalone refrigerators do have little gaps at the sides. I've never seen one that is snug against the counters on both sides. If a fridge is a legit built-in, where it's meant to look like part of the cabinets or whatever, then yes, but most fridges are not that way.

This is actually my favorite lot in the game. I moved the Munch's out years ago, but just came across this house within the last 6 months. It was empty, so I had to create my own floorplan. I really like how it turned out, I made that detached room into an actual guesthouse, expanded the stone fence to the border of the lot, and added a huge greenhouse to the west side of the house. I love it so much. I put the kitchen in the second bedroom, turned the dining room into a living room, and made the old kitchen space a bedroom.

I'm south-american and the spaces separated by hallways is super common in old houses. my grandparents' old house had the living room at the beginning, and then you had to go down stairs where there was this long ass hallway with rooms at each side, and at the end there was a door that led you to the dining room, and after that there was another door that led you to the kitchen. I'm recreating that house in the sims and hope that soon I will be uploading it to the gallery. Not all houses are that of a mess, but it's very normal here to have the kitchen separated from the other rooms.

You can either try to just renovate and keep it looking similar, or you can follow his rules: After placing, cheat money to 25k Keep build similar (similar layout and structure) Please please try it!!!

The different floor boards in that bedroom is because that's Wolfgang's and Lucas' shared room, and Wolfgang is an angsty teen while Lucas is a nature loving child. They were trying to tell their story with that room and I respect that because I've done it soooo many times back in my Sims 3 days

Kayla!!! In Europe walls are made from stone, do you have any idea how much work it is to tear down a stone wall?! Especially if it is load bearing? You'll have to insert a rolled steel joist for that. That sort of stuff costs thousands of Euros! But yeah, maybe you'd get a kitchen/diner, but actually a lot of people would extent their kitchens out into the backyard for that.
