Recently I've been slightly renovating a save with the packs I have to use as my new default. The Caliente was next on my list because I decided the reason Johnny zest is disowned from the landgraabs is because (in addition to his comedy career) he had a tryst with Nina Caliente out of wedlock and Nina disowned the baby, so now Johnny is a single father. I've seen others use this story before so I turned his trailer house into a 2 bedroom, with decorating priority going to the baby's room 🥺 I didn't do much with the Caliente house except for hiding the bassinet behind a divider in Nina's room

I always struggle to get side windows right, then I look at all the houses around me in real life and the windows only look "right" on the front of the house, the rest of the house prioritizes how it looks inside. I've tried using that philosophy in my Sims builds now too, front of the house windows will be immaculate, everywhere else prioritized to look nice from inside.

same, i try to break the habit too! just looking at the house i grew up in, there's a side of the house completely devoid of windows except a small non-centered one on the second floor. makes zero sense from outside, but perfect sense from inside lol. i think the wonky window placement (when it makes sense indoors) makes the build feel more like a home

I love this build but I downloaded it and immediately rotated the pergola and moved the gate to be even in the middle of the wall. Table perfectly under the pergola, grill off to the side, plant at the end. Lots of room for lounge chairs. It looks so much better, the pergola now fits perfectly.

It would be fun to see you push yourself completely out of your comfort zone for the interior of the townie builds. You're not going to be playing in them, most likely, so they'd be a good place to play with colour and pattern! Obviously, we all build to our own strengths and tastes, but townie homes are a great place to experiment, I think. Unleash your inner boho maximalist, pastel goth, or ultra-modern brutalist! I think its intentional for most houses to have that unfinished or incomplete look so that players can modify them to their taste if they do decide to play the goth's or caliente's character

as someone who has taken architecture classes, i can say that the windows at the front of a house are the only windows that really matter how they look irl -- however i totally get wanting the side windows to look good from manage worlds. i know my real life architecture information about window curb appeal and i still build my houses in the sims based purely on where i want the windows and where i want the stairs 😂😂😂

So when I first started Sims 4 after decades away from the franchise, I didn't remember any of the lore or many of the townies. So my first Sim goes looking for love and ends up with Don Lothario. Once they were married, I found his Serial Romantic aspiration, so I played to it. That was how I learned that Sims who are mad at each other won't share a bed, lol. In the end, Dina who had twins and another child from Don, came into our house and autonomously proposed to Don while he was still married to my Sim. He left her with SIX children to look after. I still have a bit of a grudge against the Calientes. 🤣
