I agree if it helps you study go for it - i guess its bc I buy my textbooks secondhand and sell them afterwards so I always take notes in word documents plus easier to find quotes later for assignments!

I do both - that way you remember it better by actually writing it down and being more focues while reading + you have a good overview as well.
