Do you get 1 bath bomb from each batch? As in 1 bath bomb when u use 100g bicarbonate 50-75g citric acid And the bath oil?
@DIYwithLily5 жыл бұрын
Yes! These ingredients will give you around one 8cm bath bomb. Depending on your mixture, sometimes you end up with some left, but pop those into a ice cube tray and you get lil baby bath bombs 😊

What about using shower gel?
@DIYwithLily4 жыл бұрын
I tried it once with those bath gels you can use for tons of bubbles, and unfortunately it didn’t work. I noticed that water was pretty high in the ingredient list, so I think that’s the reason. Bath bombs react with even small amounts of water like crazy! 😞

I got mine from Amazon (link in description box, but if you are from the US, Kneipp is a bit more expensive over there)! But depending on where you live, you can get them at affordable beauty stores. In the US, Marshall's might have a few nice ones! As long as it is a bath oil (not a gel or similar, it has to be oil), it works perfectly! Hope that helps 😁
@mariangies6 жыл бұрын
I looked in amazon but they didn't have the colored ones. I'll have to check the n Marshall's. It's funny, today I was coloring a bath bomb with shimmer eye shadow and I though it won't look good. Then I saw your video. Lol 😍 Thanks! Btw I had to edit this because spell check, really messed up what I wanted to say. lol I hate spell check sometimes. Lol
@DIYwithLily6 жыл бұрын
Btw, so sorry, I thought I had links in the description box 😂 I added them now, those are the ones I used. It's a different box, but the inside oils are exactly the same! But if you have a Marshall's nearby, definitely recommend looking there! And thank you so much ❤️

Can we use olive or coconut oil instead of a bath oil?
@DIYwithLily5 жыл бұрын
I have never tried olive oil, but considering it works with almond oil, it would have to work with olive oil. With coconut it works 100% 😊 I use bath oil because it has already everything: fragrance/essential oils, base oil and color 😋

Can you use essential oils instead of bath oils?
@DIYwithLily6 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't substitute the bath oil for essential oil, since too much essential oil can actually be irritating for the skin. But, that said, if you don't have bath oils, you can mix for example coconut oil (or almond oil, or similar) with some drops of essential oil, for that lovely smell! Bath oil was more of an alternative to not having to use a carrier oil + an essential oil 😁

To help anyone it’s basical 2 parts baking soda to 1 part citric acid
@shianne8105 жыл бұрын
There's no set rules that has to be 2:1 ratio. The more citric the faster the movement, the less, slower
@DIYwithLily5 жыл бұрын
shianne810 Exactly! That was what I was trying to explain 😁 a 2:1 ratio is the basic one, 2:1.5 (? is that correct, we don't really use ratios over here 🙈) would be the 75% one, it's a bit more intense!

omg... don't pack it. 80 % of your bombs will break. Made a lot of recipes, i think this one is kind of good, but just don't pack it. Fill both sides put a little more on the top and then just gently push both sides together. And don't spin ornament or mold in different sides while you are puting sides together. Good luck

You also NEED a mask dealing with citric acid, be safe yall
@DIYwithLily6 жыл бұрын
The amount of Citric Acid we are working with does not require a mask. A mask would only be needed in case of an excessive air contamination, which is not the case here (mentioned on the packaging and I checked online). If any precaution, then it would be being careful not getting it into our eyes. But I think nobody likes Lemon juice in their eyes, so we are aware of keeping it away 😅

Citric acid is way stronger tho..It is concentrated powder.. I cant imagine it fizzing to well if you use juice..The citric acid can be bought online for only $3.50 per 1 pound bag at Brambleberry (dot com)..You only need maybe 1/2 cup per batch so it should make a few batches!..or get 2 bags for $7 so you can make a TON...They sell 10 lb bags for $22.00... relax guys
