Love the video. Born in Lima and grew up across the tracks from Wells located in Northland Plaza. This plaza was the end of the line for Main St. The American Mall was on the west side of Lima by the Texaco station you showed in the video.

Loved your video. Born in Lima and still visit often. One point I would like to correct is Wells store wasn’t in the American Mall. They had a slogan “Main Street leads to Wells”. I believe the name of that complex of stores was called Northland and was what we now call a strip mall. Thank you.

There was in fact a Welles located at the American Mall as well as the Northland Plaza. It was the Eastern anchor store at one point😊

Cool quick peek at American Mall , spent a lot of time there as a kid . Especially the 50 cent theater, with cheap popcorn & soda

Video started out showing a 1970 Monte Carlo which looked mint so the year of the video probably 70 or 71

Cinema One? For most of my childhood it was the shuttered Warner Sigma. By the time I was 18 it was the Sigma, showing soft core porn, including Ed Wood's elusive The Only House In Town (I think a print has finally been found for distribution). By the time of Cinema One, they'd graduated to hardcore.

As a kid I thought it was so clever to say Rinks stinks, Greggs begs, Welles smells, and we all follow the Leader, for the four big stores in town. 🙄

Interesting video. The footage at 12:00 is southbound I-75 at Tipp City, Ohio. I recognized the location (before I even saw any signs) but was confused by "Exit 50." Today, this is Exit 68 (State Route 571.) Apparently, the exits were renumbered after exits in the Cincinnati area were reconfigured. At 13:33 we are in Dayton, south of Stanley Ave. What used to be exit 41 has been retired, and the Main Street/Route 4 interchanges have been completely rebuilt, along with all of I-75 through the city of Dayton. I would say your estimation of the date of the interstate footage is accurate, based on the appearance of the vehicles.

Wow in the beginning is a mid to late 60's Jacobson garden tractor and the fire truck is an early 60's International Harvester pickup.

awesome video. The only thing that could be added, if possible, is the now and then of both Hospitals.

I think the video is from the early 70s because I saw a 1973-74 Chevy Malibu.

the gas station is an old Texaco gas station that once sat on Elm Street the station across now is a defunct. station now once was a 76 station. the main entrance shown where it has Kroger in the left corner is the entrance in the mid-eighties was entrance next to what was Baskin and Robbins and would be the counter entrance from what would be later on the cross entrance if you walked in from BW3's it be the straight-ahead entrance from that. I've got pictures of my grandfather on ribbon cutting of the opening day. the Anderson story used to be a Burlington Coat Factory during the eighties.
