Lime CEO on Global Fleet Expansion

Lime, the operator of a shared electric bike and scooter network backed by Uber, is planning to invest more than $55 million this year to expand its global fleet. CEO Wayne Ting discusses with Caroline Hyde and Ed Ludlow on "Bloomberg Technology."

It rains A LOT in london. Nobody wants an electric bike for transportation where it rains alot.

We have them in Seattle. The bikes and scooters are extremely popular even though it does rain a lot.

There are better designs which have water resistance ratings out on the market now, but cost wise, well..should become within reach eventually. Won't replace cars entirely, but if one can muster the funds, they are good to have for a secondary option when fuel prices are a bit much, or when your better half needs to travel for work related purpose or doctor appointments and you have need to go working yourself, especially if the bus, train or cabs are having diffuculties, on strike or otherwise. Even a non powered option is good to have around, but do appreciate having an ebike for them days when one is under the weather health wise and still have to get around. Saves on calorie consumption when the food prices are a bit out of reach and one still has to work, all be it still an uphill climb figurative and literal at times. Would divide my time and income best as possible in the younger years between modes of transport and by necessity..including a used cruiser skateboard for short trips to the post office or around certian areas of town between bus rides. Walked, jogged and ran where safe..not so much anymore mind you...😅. Would keep an eye out for a lower priced option with a decent water resistance rating which can be rode without power assist..250 watts 36 volt or higher if the rules there allow..mid drive, rear..whatevers avalible..fix it up and have on standby. Cuts a 4 hr walk down to one or less when the legs are not up to the challange after a long days work.

Yeah no... Until you can replace the image in people's heads of all those scooters and city bikes in trash piles and in the bay....Not gonna get that popular support
