Do u think that the outdoor cubicles cause more mastitis or other health problems for the cows than indoor cubicles?

Wow loads of questions from this video!! How do you find the bob man? Is the holder for the lime a bit small? Do you have auto scrapers, I don’t see a track on the passages? Fine set up by the way

The bobman does a good job, one load would do 140 to 200 cubicles depending how heavy you want it. We have rope scrapers 👍

How long does it take to milk 1 cow? 5 min?

It varies depending one how much milk they are giving but it would around 5-8 minutes

God help the poor farmers they can’t even afford to put a few sheets of tin on to give the cows a bit of shelter

Sheds are a relatively modern day phenomenon believe it or not. Less than 100 years ago cattle would not have been kept in sheds for the winter. Also shelter isnt just about from the top. For animals It's more important to think about the sides. barriers from prevailing winds, 👍

@@philipoconnor2236 they werent kept in an open yard without shelter- they had hedges for shelter- did u not see what happened in greenfield kikenny

@@pitythefool301 In fairness hard for us to know what shelter they have. Farm seems to be built on an old, estate, you can see the walls as he walks around yard, so not really fair to say they've no shelter. Also big difference lve found if your standing or go down on your hunkers to level cows be at if they lying in cubicles. Re greenfield : farming doesn't work unless it's a family affair imo. Not enough out of it for it to exist as a pure financial venture.
