Maybe you got no pierce because you took bounce arcana? There is no point in piercing if you shots bounce of enemies instead of penetrating.

My exact thought, maybe bouncing substitutes piercing for that weapon, so the piercing stat is replaced by the static bounces stat and cannot be upgraded

The projectiles seems to pierce infinite after the bounce while leaving the screen. Maybe the dev was aware of it and removed the powerup after acquiring the Arcana. Edit: I got piercing before the Arcana

Funny, I literally tried this same LB challenge yesterday (guess I'm not the only one being inspired after looking at the comments), but my approach was to start with bounce for the AoE clear. Fwiw, in a previous run I did, it seemed that Magic Wand had the option to pierce, but Holy Wand loses that option through evolution. I'm not sure if that's to allow default weapons the potential to keep up with evolved but yeah, in wand's case the options for LB were definitely not the same.

Duration should _technically_ have an effect on most weapons like Holy Wand, but it only matters if you're walking with the projectile as its base duration is incredibly long. From what I can tell La Borra's growth cap includes the base weapon "area" stat, I think at some (ridiculously large) Limit Break scaling it might actually start shrinking instead of growing as the initial size is not capped.

Hold one: What? Since when do they have duration? Holy_Missile e.g. has no duration attribute, but when this topic came up once with Hellfire (though to be fair, a long time ago), I tested it by walking at -1 HP with it for I think 17 minutes and it never despawned. The reason this was done on Hellfire is because it does have the duration attribute but at 100, which I assume means 0.1 seconds (Santa Water e.g. has 2000 and a 500 duration increase per lvl up increases it by 0.5 seconds). Are you sure these can disappear? Or are you talking about a time length that is incredibely long, like 30+ minutes?

@@DexTag I must be misremembering then, I thought there was something in the base classes or their functions which implemented a timeout. They _do_ initialise with 1s base duration but I can't see any actual timeout in the current code. What does work on all weapons is the "cooldown affected by duration" flag used to distinguish King Bible and Unholy Vespers, but the weapons which intend to use it will have a properly defined duration anyway.

Speaking of weird cases of weapons being affected by duration, Fuwalafuwaloo can get Limit Breaks for Duration. Apparently it affects how long the forward slashes stay active? Seems weird since they come out so quickly.

I literally just did a game with Imelda on mad forest before seeing this in my subs and I have to say limit break makes the wand a beast. Granted I only had 100% curse and mad forest doesn't have tanky enemies at the end making it easy but it was still a lot of fun. The wand is truly good with a few hundred extra upgrades in it. lol

Yes, the curse does now update for enemies that are already on the screen. You can also check this with Wicked Season.

I don't know for sure why you didn't get piercing, but I can say for certain it is possible to get it. I got it plenty when doing a Leda run on Capella.

I did double magic wand and it worked much stronger, with other items too

maybe you didn't see penetration because of the max value? maybe 0xa (or 10) is the value for piercing one target in that case? or bounce overwrites it.

Should have gone for freeze .. I had the same issues with not killing. There are a few waves, the witches and the last two where I used freezes that were on the ground and killed them like crazy. When they weren't frozen I killed nothing only pushed them away.

Another weapon that would be super cool would be the evolution of the fire wand whatever its called since there so big and can do critical hits if you get it bouncing like you have this weapon and as close as you can to get it at rapid fire point you have some good entertainment

Does the bounce do anything? I can see that it is helpful until minute 5 but go to minute 15 and see if there is any useful bouncing. (it happens to a degree but never bounces to a useful direction.)

Yes, the bounces are VERY good. It only seems like it falls off at mid-game because the projectile speed goes up so high that the bounces chain extremely quickly. If you pay close attention, you can see a single projectile wipes nearly entire groups of enemies at once.

bei minute 2 sieht mans ganz schön: holy wand hat arge probleme die gegner anzuvisieren... weiß net ob ich nen fehler in meinem build hatte wo ich limit break leda gemacht hab aber ich war echt hart am überlegen awake zu nhemen einfach weil holy wand überall hingeschossen hat, nur net dahin wo die gegner waren... jap... holy wand feuert komplett sinnbefreit in die gegend und trifft teils garnix... also ich hab das gefühl das die evolution holy wand extrem ungenau macht...

Ja, es ist traurig wie schlecht die Waffe noch immer ist, und eher wegen solchen Problemen. Der Grund warum ich es "gut" nannte ist, da Holy Wand in der Vergangenheit IMMER oben links angegriffen hat, wenn ein Gegner auf deiner Hitbox war. Ist er unten rechts? Greift oben links an und wird ihn niemals treffen. Das scheint besser zu sein, aber die Waffe hat noch immer mega Probleme
