Not to be pedantic , but this bow is neither Turkish, Hungarian nor Hunnic (you mentioned Atilla). The bow is Chinese; I believe modeled off historical bows of the Han dynasty. It’s a very nice bow, but you’re correct in that it isn’t suited for your shooting style. The small handle that you pointed out is well suited to a Chinese (and broadly Asian) grip. The pinky and ring finger grip the bow while the middle finger is left looser, and the pointer finger is very loose, sometimes not even wrapping around the bow.

Forgive me, I wrote Han dynasty but meant Ming dynasty. Kind of hypocritical of me to point out a historical error on your part and then make a similar mistake myself.

Actually, Gagnis Kan used the Mongolian bow that is really similar so not quite this bow shape but a really close one to this AF archery bow in traditional composite (then called compound) materials.

By Longbow this guy means the Medieval/English longbow made more modern with a small arrow rest or a flat limb longbow/Reflex Deflex style that 90% made new now have a rest or duel sided rest from a few companies. Almost all Recurve bows that are not based on classic designs have an Arrow rest even if it is really skinny.

I have a short 24.5-25" DL on my compound and am thinking a shorter AMO bow would be a benefit. The Bear Super Mag and Kodiak Magnum are interesting, but pricey. Any suggestions on a one piece recurve for a 25" DL for hunting deer and wild pigs? Thx.
